In a panel moderated by Ms. Shahnaz Kausar, faith leaders shared key messages: compassion for children, ending violence, safe environments, girls’ education & consent, and stronger faith leadership for harmony. @UNICEF_Pakistan

Ms. Afshan Jamal, Child Protection Specialist outlined key gains in preventing child marriage, including faith-based Fatwas, IEC materials with CII Pakistan & UNICEF, community outreach across faith spaces, and support for families through business grants and girls’ scholarships.

Farzana Yasmeen Child Protection Specialist at @UNICEF_Pakistan highlighted key child protection concerns in Pakistan emphasizing the urgent need for collaborative action, stronger community engagement and faith-informed messaging to effectively address violence against children

Senator @AyeshaRaza13 Chairperson @NCRC_Pakistan stressed the need to engage faith leaders in child protection efforts. She called for strict law enforcement, stronger community awareness, and urged scholars to correct misinterpretations of faith.

@UNICEF_Pakistan Deputy Country Representative, Sharmeela Rasool underscored the crucial role of faith leaders in child protection. With children projected to reach only 50% of their potential by age 18, she called for action on child labour, birth registration & child marriage
