At a high-level policy dialogue on ‘Climate Finance and International Cooperation for Strengthening Climate Resilience in Pakistan’ hosted by the @IRSIslamabad, Dr. @SamuelRizk, Resident Representative #UNDPinPakistan, emphasized that climate resilience is not only a financing gap, it is also a governance, public-finance and delivery challenge. The dialogue brought together @Dr_Shezra118, Minister of State for Climate Change and Environmental Coordination; Ambassador @JauharSaleem, President, IRS; and development partners and stakeholders working in #ClimateFinance in Pakistan. Under the 🇪🇺 @EUPakistan-funded #HuqooqePakistanII project, #UNDPinPakistan held national and provincial capacity development sessions with the government and statutory commissions to strengthen institutional capacity and improve inter-departmental coordination for reporting on international treaty body obligations, the Universal Periodic Review (UPR),  GSP+ and the Sustainable Development Goals. UNDP is committed to supporting the @GovtofPakistan and @mohrpakistan in building strong, data-driven systems to strengthen Pakistan's national and subnational human rights architecture.

𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗘𝘃𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲-𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗱 𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝘆𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 The Vice Chancellor of @PIDEpk, 𝗗𝗿. 𝗡𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗲𝗺 𝗝𝗮𝘃𝗮𝗶𝗱 (@nadeemjavaid75) welcomed the Resident Representative of @UNDP_Pakistan, 𝗗𝗿. 𝗦𝗮𝗺𝘂𝗲𝗹 𝗥𝗶𝘇𝗸 (@samuelrizk) for a high-level meeting to explore a long-term strategic partnership in support of Pakistan’s development priorities. The discussions focused on strengthening evidence-informed policymaking through collaborative research, knowledge exchange, and institutional cooperation. Priority areas included 𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲, 𝗴𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲, 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗸 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁, 𝗵𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁, 𝗽𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝗽𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝘆, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗚𝗼𝗮𝗹𝘀 (𝗦𝗗𝗚𝘀), 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗰𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴. Creating pathways for young people to engage with Pakistan’s human rights ecosystem. Through the 🇪🇺 @EUPakistan-funded #HuqooqePakistanII project, #UNDPinPakistan is partnering with @solforgpk to launch a national internship programme for university students. Informed by nationwide consultations, students from @LifeAtLUMS, @HabibUniversity, @UOBQuetta, @QAU_Islamabad, @UPeshPakistan, @lahorecollege & @BahriaOfficial will be placed with government departments, CSOs, research institutions, and statutory bodies - gaining first-hand experience and applying their skills to support human rights work in practice.
