I remember when the original Star Trek came out. Me and my friends were really impressed by the Enterprise design - so different from the rocket ships we’d seen up to them.
We discussed possible reasons for the Enterprise’s shape endlessly. It was so fascinating.
The vessel below is obviously created only in a failed attempt to “look cool”. It stimulates zero curiosity or discussion. What a failure.

@jondelarroz This is all fantasy, no SciFi anymore. Magical creatures and flying metal ships…
English

@venturepictures They miss logic and a certain plausibility that SciFi needs for world building. Why is this huge donut hole needed? What are these lines that sometimes look like windows and sometimes like orientation lines? Why does hull plating still look like coming from 2026? All unanswered…

I’m not quite convinced by the 32nd Century ships.
The older Trek ships seemed plausible, but these new designs feel detached.
Literally lol
#StarTrek Ships are more like main characters. It’s important for ships to connect with people.
I’m curious why this direction chosen?

@TransportRoom @TrekMovie That ain‘t a compliment for him. Anyhow, happy birthday.
English

@TrekMovie Without him, we wouldn’t have the Trek we have today. So, thank you!

Happy birthday to Alex Kurtzman, who oversees the Star Trek Universe on TV, which encompasses Discovery, Picard, Strange New Worlds, Lower Decks, Prodigy, and Section 31. He also co-wrote and produced the first two #StarTrek reboot movies.

@doesephs_ This is sooo beautiful. Please give us more Kevin with open hair

@Ginger_Trekkie @JayR_Xx It has some nice elements. I like the generative dot pattern structure at the top. It could be a nice element for new ship. Not a convinced fan of the metal-patch texture, though.
English

@KelvinsTimeline @Ginger_Trekkie I thought the same. Previous sets were smaller which created a sense of togetherness. And I mean just in terms of how the design influences the perception of space.
English

@Ginger_Trekkie I hope she’s got a booming voice as nobody will hear those commands. Why’s she all alone 😢
English

@1000kilobytes Btw, where did you get the soap bubble wallpaper for desktop and mobile? I really like it!
English

@gaghyogi49 Why did they never release a model of this one? It‘s one of the more attractive ships of that show.

Here are some images of the aft of the Klingon battlecruiser, seen in the #StarTrekStrangeNewWorlds season 3 trailer ⬆️ and the #StarTrekDiscovery season 2 episode "Through the Valley of Shadows"⬇️.

English

@DylanWassell6 That would have been my Enterprise F, tbh. It‘s wonderfully designed. All proportions and textures work out so well. I have nothing but compliments for it!
English

@NytNyte @EnjoyerBara I did not get where to see it all, would you mind giving another hint?
English

@rajAnoop_ @Sreevijay15 @Entroprox @encoword Horrible looking fake.
The designer who tried this mockup is completely talentless, sorry. This is not how iOS26 will look like 😂

Starfleet faces organisational crisis when some of most respected civilian, starfleet, academics & politicians—many from GCP—openly accuse Starfleet/FED of a loss ‘objective reality’ by building a future fleet focus of ‘warships for warmongers.’ GCP head resigns with hull 19.
Galaxy Class Project@galaxyclassproj
OTD 30 April 2376: Hull 18, Build 19 ‘VICTORY’ the last Galaxy class Starship, arrives at McKinley station, SOL, in preparation for commissioning later that year. VICTORY represents the epitome of the class, the most powerful, and the end of an era.
English

@galaxyclassproj Similiar feeling to everyone taking Andrew Proberts designs in STO and showing how to „improve“ his work.
English

I’ll hold my ground. What a travesty to use the set like this. I guess as it’s not the original then another take is: screw it and abuse it but then that makes a point in itself. Also note how TNG style is timeless & clearly still where most want to be.
