🚨A coalition of 22 nations, including the UAE, Bahrain, and European allies, just stepped in to secure the Strait of Hormuz. They released a joint statement saying they're ready "to contribute to appropriate efforts to ensure safe passage through the Strait." Why this matters: when this many countries align at once, especially when it includes Gulf nations, it's a sign that Iran's days of blocking the Strait are numbered. Because if shipping isn’t safe… everything downstream starts breaking. Source: UK Government

Israel has struck a main bridge linking Lebanon’s south to the rest of the country. It also ordered its military to destroy all crossings over Lebanon’s Litani River and to step up the demolition of homes near the southern border. International law generally prohibits militaries from attacking civilian infrastructure, and the United Nations human rights chief has criticised Israel’s actions in Lebanon. Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz said that the military had been ordered to destroy all bridges over the Litani River used for “terrorist activity,” to prevent Hezbollah militants and weapons from moving south. But Lebanon’s President Joseph Aoun said the attacks are a “prelude to a ground invasion” and condemned the attacks as a “clear violation” of international law. “These attacks constitute a dangerous escalation and a blatant violation of Lebanon’s sovereignty. They are a prelude to a ground invasion, which Lebanon has long warned against through diplomatic channels,” Aoun said. #israel #lebanon #bridge #middleeast #worldnews
