Fucked beyond belief. Nationally, third-country nationals (non-EU) made up roughly 11-12% of Croatia's population as of 2024-2025 (around 454,000–470,000 people out of ~3.87–3.88 million total), driven by labor migration.

Once minorities breach 8% of your overall population, you enter the ethno/confessional/racial political zone, currents that will swallow up your whole governing system and society, holding it hostage forever and ever. Amen.

@xciteseeker This is only those registered for resident cards, work permits would get you a resident card. Does not include tourist visas, waiting to get a job (illegal), but no one tracks them.

@IstrianMario How were so many there in 2020 with Covid limiting travel and movement? Also, what is meant by legal resident? Is it not on work permit? So work permit people are probably triple if not more?

The National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF), a government body focused on Muslim affairs, estimates Muslims make up around 11% of the population. Where do most of them prefer to work? The Middle East. Where are most Filipinos coming from into Croatia? The Middle East.

Absolutely no one is highlighting the tourist visa scam.... and I believe I'm the first to point it out.

Overseas job agencies charge people who want a job in Croatia from €3 - €10k. This is the reason they are flying in on tourist visas, and then waiting for someone to hire them. Completely illegal. Anyone caught hiring them should be banned from doing business.

BREAKING - Indians and Africans attempting to enter El Salvador are now shocked to learn that the country is imposing a $1,300 “airport improvement fee” before granting them entry, with one Indian man so mad he is telling fellow Indians not to travel there.

@cetterus Agree, no Croatian buried artillery, small arms, munitions, etc, all over the place. Every week as houses are sold and cleaned up, the new owners are calling the police to dispose of "found" weapons.

@IstrianMario Istra is known to be filled by that one militant,wanna-be-ruler minority. Legacy of many JNA camps and neighbouring families least scarred by their bloodshed. Easy place to gaslight and manipulate into "tolerance" and "long gone" sob story. Croatians usually don't burry artillery

Do you want to get banned on groups? Ask a migrant that is offering food preparation/delivery, tattoo services, nail/hair services, home modifications, if they are registered/licensed. Apparently I'm racist for asking, and then get blocked. Rules for us, not for you.

@trader_edg No one from Istra went to war? We had a village with over 100% recruitment, because those that didn't get recruited didn't want to stay home without their friends. Istra is filled with buried munitions. Istra fighters played a key role in the fight for independence.

@nic_amadio In Istra it is very much like that. I know many people that will grind, from Easter until the first week of October, and then never even lift a finger in the cold months. They will work 7 days/week straight throughout the season, tho, hard work, lot's of money. They rely on €s

I’ve met a taxi driver from Split he was a bit weird in some ways. But friendly in the end. Super proud of the „Croatian laziness” (his words), that with tourism is so easy money and that he can work 4 months per year and chill the other ones if he wants. That he has many Airbnbs etc. Just proud in general. But I think he’d be flexing on other Croats too (if they milk tourism less than him / work only summer jobs and do drugs rest of the year etc - some things he mentioned).

2 types of Croats I’ve seen so far 🇭🇷👇 1. The online hater “Don’t move here!” “We hate businesses” “You’re making prices too high” 2. The friendly host Takes time to serve you best and explain you all they know whether it’s in a restaurant, cafe, museum etc. Free drinks, free shots, gifts you a bottle of olive oil. There’s this wine bar owner in Zagreb that invited me more times over the past few days than some of my best friends in the past few years 😂 I don’t know if it was just him, but it seems to me that Croats are actually quite generous if you’re respectful and friendly. Found few other such people (just with less crazy gifts 😄) in other endeavours in Zagreb.

@nic_amadio the entire coast loves money, Dalmatia we consider closer to us than ZG. I'm sure ZG, those involved in services to visitors love the money... those not involved will hate anyone different, or if they have to wait a little longer for a beer.
