Proud to have participated in the medical volunteer mission in Sudan with King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre. This experience was far more than a surgical mission. It was a powerful reminder of the true meaning of service, teamwork, adaptability, and human connection. Working alongside dedicated colleagues in challenging conditions reinforces an important lesson: impact in healthcare is not measured only by complexity of procedures, but also by presence, compassion, and commitment to patients and communities. Beyond surgery and long hours, it was a reminder that medicine is ultimately about humanity, dignity, and standing beside people when they need it most. I am deeply grateful to every member of the team, the local healthcare professionals, and everyone involved in organizing and supporting this mission. في الطب ليس من السهل فهم تعقيدات مسار الأطباء لمن لم يعش تفاصيله من الداخل. فالكثير يرى المهنة من ظاهرها: معطف أبيض، ومكانة اجتماعية، وصورة عامة توحي بالاستقرار. لكن ما يجري خلف هذه الصورة أكثر تعقيدًا بكثير. دوام 27 أو ال32 ساعة ليس مجرد رقم يُذكر على الهامش، بل تجربة كاملة من الاستنزاف الذهني والجسدي. خلال هذه الساعات لا يكون الطبيب مجرد حاضر في المستشفى، بل يعيش حالة يقظة مستمرة. عقل يعمل بلا توقف، يراجع التشخيصات، ويوازن بين الاحتمالات، ويتخذ قرارات قد يتوقف عليها مصير إنسان. وفي الوقت ذاته جسد يتحرك بلا توقف بين المرضى وغرف العمليات وممرات المستشفى، حينها يصبح التعب جزءًا من إيقاع الحياة اليومية. فحين تُحجب الحقوق أو تُهمل المطالب، يظهر شعور ثقيل بأن الجهد المبذول لا يسير إلى الأمام، بل يدور في حلقة مغلقة. ليس لأن الطبيب يبحث عن امتيازٍ خاص، بل لأن الشعور بالإنصاف هو ما يمنح كل هذا التعب معنى. الحديث عن حقوق الأطباء وظروف تدريبهم ليس ترفًا مهنيًا، بل هو نقاش أوسع حول معنى العدالة في المهن. فالمجتمعات التي تطلب من أطبائها أعلى درجات الإخلاص، مطالبة في المقابل بأن تضمن لهم الحد الأدنى من التقدير والإنصاف.

New chapter. I have been relocated to East Jeddah Hospital. This transition is centered on a clear objective, to help establish a structured trauma unit and drive the development of a Level 1 trauma center in Jeddah, within an environment where vision and execution are aligned, working alongside a surgeon @AHMADRAHMANI1 with a proven track record in building systems from the ground up. Grateful for where the journey started, where I trained and grew from resident to consultant. Now, the focus is simple, build.

Honored to be appointed as the Western Region Chapter Head of the Saudi General Surgery Society. Looking forward to contributing to strengthening surgical education, collaboration, and professional standards across the region. This role comes with responsibility more than recognition, and I hope to deliver meaningful impact alongside colleagues who are equally committed to advancing our field.
