A note on this. Counterintuitively, cultures that are obsessive about seeking "a good death" (usually a warrior's death) are the most terrified of death
Death is their God, a "bad death" (not just a dishonorable one, boring suffices) is an irredeemable sin

In a way games are an interesting psychological tool in that in many way they emulate how a dumb person sees real life (independently of experiencing them)
Real life is too complex to be emulated in a game, so what does the dev do? Simplifies things in a "sensical way"
