1/ When this photo was taken in 2021, @danyadlin and I had just sold Curv to @PayPal, and Michael was taking @FireblocksHQ through a phase of hypergrowth. While the tech implementation differed, both our companies were fundamentally solving for the biggest issue in crypto at that time - security, scalability, and a much more efficient operational workflow that would enable the seamless movement of crypto & digital assets to happen 24/7.

Web3 products often treat users like engineers. Here is your gas estimate. Here are 10 pop-ups to make you connect your wallet. Here are 5 things you need to sign before you continue. Good luck. The best products treat users like guests. Everything they need is already prepared. We’re building for a future where using Web3 products is inviting, not discouraging.

Complexity should live in the system, not in the interface. Every technical detail exposed to users is a confession: we could not figure out how to handle this ourselves.

Most products add features. Great products subtract decisions. Every fork in the road is a moment where users might turn back. How many unnecessary forks does your product have? Something to think about.

The next billion users will not know they are using blockchain. Just like they do not know they are using TCP/IP. Infrastructure wins when it becomes invisible. We are not there yet, but closer than most realize.

A random thought that just crossed my mind: the undo button is underrated. When users can reverse any action, they explore with confidence. When they cannot, they hesitate at every step. Fear is friction. Reversibility is freedom. What other designs do you think are underrated? Keen to hear thoughts.

It’s hard to predict exactly how AI will evolve. But one thing is clear: it will be everywhere. In an AI-driven world, blockchains matter for far more than cheaper or faster settlement. They make information use and transactions transparent, verifiable, and rule-based. Without that, we risk a digital world dominated by a few centralized operators, each gaming the system. Blockchains can radically change how the value created by AI is distributed between users and operators. So you tell me: What’s the fair outcome? What’s the right outcome?

@Adv_Elite94 Web3 UX needs to get to the point where users stop realizing they’re using crypto.

GM We will go hard this week cause we touched wild grass yesterday. 🤣 Btw, I was thinking about all of your experience around Web3 and dApps. Means as a newbie if you use apps recently you are using it that feels complicated to navigate? I all mean About UX / UI of your apps are those really simple for anyone to use? 🤨

GM Happy Sunday As for the condition of the market and airdrops these days there's something you need from your favourite DeFi 👀 If any DeFi accepts this from me to reward their users on their usage there will be good for both hehe. I was just thinking bro there's no one going to take it seriously so you know any better AI DeFi yet? That gives peace of mind while we put our bags part in. ( Not possible in crypto side but with AI you know. Note : Don't forget to touch grass.

@Manny_Medici A big fan of simplifying wallet connections. I think about it from the perspective of a new user. Seeing your wallet pop up, having to sign multiple transactions… the list goes on. It’s added friction, and quite overwhelming.

5 Ways we can Improve Web3 UX: - Simplify wallet connections. - Use clear transaction previews. - Add progress indicators. - Incorporate error handling. - Test on multiple chains. I'd do a proper breakdown of this later tonight

Web3 wallets don’t need to feel like rocket science if we want everyone onboarded, the UX has to feel invisible, period.

@0xnesyA Spot on. I think the current UX of a lot of dApps make people think and second guess too much. The experience should just guide the user, without any friction.

web3’s biggest mistake is assuming everyone understands crypto. adoption doesn’t start with ideology, it starts with ux. specie simplifies complex processes instead of educating users, it adapts to them
Specie@speciefinance

One of the most important parts of building @speciefinance is designing for non-crypto natives. 70%+ of our users have never touched stablecoins. They’re the future of money movement, but the workflow has to meet users where they are.

What’s one Web3 or crypto application you’ve used that ‘just works’? I’ve been seeing a lot of praise for applications like @HyperliquidX and @Polymarket - curious to see what else people are impressed by.

A useful test I keep coming back to: If you removed all tooltips and docs, would the product still make sense? If not, something’s off.

Banks don’t hire quietly when something is a fad. Over the last 6–12 months, every major bank has been stacking digital asset hires, heads of crypto, tokenization leads, onchain strategy, compliance, custody, payments. This is operational buildout. They’re doing it because they know how the next version of finance is going to be run.

The hardest part of building products isn’t adding functionality. It’s deciding what the user should never have to think about. Every choice you expose creates friction, and every default you set creates momentum. The products that scale aren’t the most flexible ones, but the ones that quietly guide people toward the right outcome without asking them to do it. That kind of simplicity isn’t accidental, it’s designed.
