After 20 years, it finally happened. A tenant blew through their entire security deposit, and then some.
$3,000 collected at the time of lease signing (4 years ago), and the total in deductions, came out to $3,172.01.
Granted, $1,600 of that total was applied to additional rent, based on them taking 12 extra days into March to fully move out.
Name one thing your significant other is terrible at. My wife is terrible at driving (you're welcome, one less driver off the road). Bonus: my wife is also terrible at cooking, other than that she is near perfect. 😂
How much are you paying for your cell phone service? I pay $26CAD/month ($19USD/month). Are you paying more or less than I am? This is one way how i'm saving money.
My friend asked me is it easy to find a $200k job that isn't stressful or have long hours🤨 I told her i don't think those jobs exist. Do you know of any?
@RoaringHammy You can have that and still feel poor because of a cashflow problem. Even with that giant safety net, if you lose your income and are used to spending freely, things can feel tight quickly. I'm between contracts and my wife is stressing because she can't buy whatever she wants.
If you have a debt free home + $1M stock portfolio and you are still stressed about your finances, i think you need to see a doctor or attend church. Do you agree? 🤣
WHOA!: Nicholas Irving, a former U.S. Army Ranger sniper, claims that during his time in Afghanistan, he observed Muslim men—specifically citing interactions with Afghan soldiers and individuals in the region—who behaved in ways that he interpreted as bisexual or homosexual while utilizing women primarily for reproduction.
IRVING: “100% of muslim males are bisexual homosexuals that enjoy getting pleasured by guys and will only use women for reproduction not because they’re actually attracted to any of them.”
Do you believe him?

Do you tip furniture delivery guys?? I just tipped my delivery guys $100 as they brought 3 beds, 3 mattress , 3 sofa, dining room set while it was raining outside... ong those guys are so frigging strong 💪.
@RoaringHammy Definitely see prices up.
If I got to the point I needed to skip meals, I'd be eating a lot more lentils and rice. Can eat decently for less than $1
OMG, are grocery prices increasing in your city? In the new, it was being reported that people in canada are starting to skip meals to offset the higher prices 😳
@RoaringHammy I've often thought about it. I like the idea of renting and not having any outdoor chores, but at the same time, I enjoy spending time outdoors and take pride in a well maintained property.
As long as housing prices don't decline, I'm forced to pay my mortgage and build equity
@SandstoneStox@Marriott I'd be grossed out if I saw it, but a few flies can get in pretty easily.
As for wiping the face and not washing, the average person touches their face 50 times per hour, so they probably didn't even notice that they touched it.
This probably should have been a warning instead
Good Heavens 😱
Eww
Having traveled domestically and internationally, I hold @Marriott chain hotels in high regard.
Since it’s public information, local health inspectors here in Palm Beach County, FL recently shut down a restaurant inside a Marriott due to serious health violations.
After a re-inspection, the restaurant was allowed to re-open
The violation of “operator wiped face without washing hands and handled multiple containers in reach in cooler” was the one that really grossed me out. What if he had a cold/allergies accompanied by a runny nose 🥴
Makes me think twice, then again you never know. 🤷
What are your thoughts ?
@RoaringHammy Ahaha. I was a little lower than that, but was a pretty good athlete.
Now my oldest kid got a single A- and my wife jokes that they got an Asian F
In Chinese culture, parents always compare their kids to their friends' kids... Is your culture like this? 😂😂 I was a C student in high school, so my parents stopped pretty early.
@MrPitbull07 Back in 2022, the government of Ontario set the serving staff minimum wage the same as all minimum wage earners at $17.20. This has pushed the price of restaurants up significantly and at the same time, the standard tipping rate has increased to 18-20%.
I paid a $169.29 breakfast bill and left the tip at $0. Not because I didn’t notice the line — but because tipping, for me, is still a personal choice, not a fixed charge.
The meal itself was fully paid for. The prices were set, the tax was added, and the total was clear. Covering that bill already supports the restaurant, its staff, and its operations. That part of the transaction was complete.
What made this moment uncomfortable wasn’t the math — it was the pressure that followed. Tipping used to be a way to say “thank you” when service stood out. Somewhere along the way, it shifted into an expectation that can feel detached from the actual experience.
Everyone comes in with different circumstances, different standards, and different limits. Respecting that choice — whatever the number — is part of keeping trust between customers and businesses. When that respect slips, so does the desire to come back.
