After 20 years, it finally happened. A tenant blew through their entire security deposit, and then some. $3,000 collected at the time of lease signing (4 years ago), and the total in deductions, came out to $3,172.01. Granted, $1,600 of that total was applied to additional rent, based on them taking 12 extra days into March to fully move out.

@Fire5280 I have one better. Tenant had a 8k security deposit, then sued me in a tenant friendly location after damaging 24k in the unit, and they want 40k to settle their suit. Very disgusted with the laws of this city. This would never happen anywhere else.

@Fire5280 You're lucky your market allows a security deposit. Mine only allows forst and last. And last cannot be used to cover any damages without he tenant approval.

I honestly don’t know who to believe

My take, after watching "Inside the Manosphere", on Netflix: 1. Men do need more tough love in this world. Understanding that the world owes you nothing, and that if you want something, you need to go out and earn it... isn't a terrible message. 2. If you're looking for a superficial woman, someone who has an OF, someone who is cool with one-way monogamy, then by all means... embrace their takes on women. 3. The documentary touches on how many of these influencers are anti-Israel, which the system, or the Matrix, as they call it... will always vilify as antisemetic. 4. As with many things in this world, some of the culture is very cringe, but some of it has a point. Some of it actually shines a much-needed light on the problem with modern men and women. 5. Many might conclude that the manosphere is a net negative for society, but I find it to be a mixed bag.
