Blaming it on "marketing" is a cop-out to me too. They've been marketing well, given the assumed budget constraints. They got players and coaches out in the community last summer. They engaged prominent local personalities like Tim Misny and Ken Carman. What are they not doing?

Why would they look it up? Cleveland State basketball doesn't register with the typical person in the area any more than Solon High School soccer does. It's not anywhere on their list of things to do on internet dot com today.

@KyleHZRT I would say not many know. That is partially on people themselves for not looking it up. It’s so easy in today’s world. But I do think part of that falls on CSU the schoo itself and the athletic department and marketing for failing to make people aware more.

Of course, I had to ask a random CSU student if he goes to basketball games. It was the same conversation as 20 years ago. He never goes.Said the school doesn’t promote the games at all. Said the team sucks. I told him how good the women’s basketball team has been. He had no idea

@pronkville08 I was also going to ask mine, but Al did the going once, going twice, three times gone in a half second. I got the feel that he was exposed to the portal transfer recruitment. The question about growing interest in Cleveland is likely shared by sales and his staff
