Just got back from a huge family supper
Lots of good stories shared. Memories. Laughs. Tears. Full bellies.
After 17 months I didn’t end this day without a hug from my brother and mother who I haven’t seen or spoke to for 17 months… but I made it happen too on top of everything else…
Going quiet tonight and most of tomorrow while my aunts finalize my grandmas wishes ect
Thankful for my oldest son who FaceTimed me and let me cry 😭
And for all the dms you’ve sent with love support strength and well wishes.

Today I will go back to the hospital with my entire family to say goodbye to my Grandma 😓
Please call your family more often if you don’t already talk to them often.
Please don’t ever take this beautiful life for granted.
I have always believed in being so grateful for every single day I have - and even though I know life is fragile.. and unpredictable… nothing ever makes having to let a loved one go any easier.

Dear Premier Smith, A referendum to have a referendum… after two justices told you, you could call Mitch Sylvestre’s question under Section 1 of the Referendum Act is hardly decisive or honest leadership. On Thursday you lied to everyone in Alberta when you falsely claimed you couldn’t use either Lukaszuk’s question or Mitch’s question because of “the courts”. The courts in fact said the opposite. Chief Alan Adam had his picture taken SIGNING the Lukaszuk petition. How would he oppose THAT question. The simple fact is that you promised Mark Carney that there wouldn’t be a vote on independence this year. By stabbing 301,620 of YOUR VOTERS in the back you delivered on the promise as part of the package to sell out Alberta for a Chinese pipeline to Asia. No binary choice for Albertans as you promised. I don’t share a lot of personal stuff on here, but my 21 year old son just sent me this message. I am ugly crying and beyond blessed to have been given the best sons in the world.
“Hey mom, I don’t say it enough but thank you. For the nights you stayed awake working tirelessly, while the rest of the world slept peacefully. Thank you for carrying the worries you never spoke about. Thank you for smiling through exhaustion. Thank you for somehow making broken things feel safe again. You gave me pieces of yourself away everyday. Just so I can become who I am today. I don’t think I noticed it when I was younger, how heavy life was on your shoulders. How tired your eyes were. How love doesn’t always mean words, but actions and sacrifices to give your children a better life. But you were always there through every version of me. The angry one, the happy, the depressed, the version of me that didn’t know how to ask for help no matter how badly I needed it. You taught me how to overcome challenges, and to never stop moving forward. You chose to love me anyway. I just needed to tell you how much you mean to me, how much I love you, and for everything you do. I don’t know how I could ever repay you for the great mom you are, and the amazing life you have given me. I always thought as a child it would’ve been better if I wasn’t born, but you showed me that your life is better with me in it. I can never show you how much that means to me. I love you more than anything and always will. ❤️❤️❤️”
