@RachaelRad @awxjack @airwallex If you are running a serious, large-scale business—or even if you aspire to be one—stay as far away from Airwallex as possible. My experience with them has been nothing short of a nightmare, characterized by incompetence and a total lack of transparency.

Finance is managing more than ever at once: payments, payroll, reimbursements, vendors, and AI. But the challenge isn’t volume – it’s having the clarity to act fast. Airwallex CPO @scott_shannon shares what that looks like in practice: bit.ly/4wkrhkd

Every new business, breakthrough idea, or bold reinvention begins with a spark. From the zip to space travel, convenience to entertainment, each began with an irrational conviction that the world could work differently, and a person bold enough to prove it. We built Airwallex because we believed banking could be better for businesses everywhere – real-time, borderless, and intelligent – so we can help turn your ideas into global businesses. Build The Future is here, and it's for every customer building what comes next.

This matches what we see every day. AI will produce an explosion of entrepreneurialism not just in tech but in every industry, every city, every country. More of those entrepreneurs will want to compete and scale globally (in ways previous generations never imagined they could) thanks to AI. We built @airwallex so they can. A global financial stack that used to be reserved for Fortune 500 companies, now available to anyone with the ambition to grow. 💪

The businesses getting the most out of AI right now aren't tech companies. They’re plumbers, agency owners, dentists, Etsy sellers. New data from @OpenAI (cc @RonnieChatterji) makes the pattern clear: tech startups account for about 5% of ~active~ U.S. users doing entrepreneurial work with ChatGPT. The other 95% are spread across services, retail, healthcare, and trades. AI adoption for entrepreneurship isn’t concentrated in tech. It’s happening inside everyday businesses, folding into routine work that used to be slower or outsourced or entirely overlooked.

I think a lot of people are surprised that the chat interface has lasted as long as it has. My take is pretty simple: chat works because it’s how humans already communicate with each other. If you stop thinking about AI as “software” and start thinking about it as just another form of intelligence, then chat isn’t a hacky UI it’s the most natural interface we have. Once you accept that, the next question isn’t “what replaces chat?” but “what other interfaces do we already use to communicate?” The obvious next one is async. Email, messages, things that don’t require real-time interaction. That’s starting to show up as agents that operate in the background, send updates, take actions, and come back when there’s something worth your attention. You can see early versions of this with things like Moby Agents, GPT-Pulse, Codex, etc. Another interface is project management. Humans organize work with tasks, backlogs, priorities. It’s inevitable that labs start launching agents with native to-do lists and goal tracking, not because it’s novel, but because that’s how work actually gets done. Push it even further and I think you’ll see productivity tools built for the agents themselves. Not just agents inside our tools, but tools designed to help agents plan, coordinate, and execute work across systems. And then there’s voice. Voice will be huge, but probably not fully until 2026+. The main bottleneck isn’t UX, it’s intelligence. Voice models still aren’t as smart as text models. The moment that gap closes (or narrows enough), voice becomes a first-class interface. The pattern is pretty consistent: AI interfaces don’t win by being futuristic. They win by matching how humans already think, communicate, and work.

We keep under estimating what we have, it is crazy that we have the best brains in the world working on creating a new brain and that over 1T is invested into this. And with all of that we all have something the labs don’t AGI in our heads.
Ethan Mollick@emollick

Its funny how much the Turing Test seemed like a giant insurmountable achievement for AI and then suddenly AI passes it & is now only worth concentrating on the Test’s many (real) flaws as a measure of thinking, Same thing with Theory of Mind, etc. Will happen with ARC-AGI, too

One of those small moments that really sticks with you. We have the pleasure of working with one of the most advanced companies in the world @OpenAI and they took the time to make sure the Columbus office got kosher donuts from a local kosher bakery so we could properly celebrate Chanukah. It’s easy to talk about innovation, AI, and scale. It’s rarer and more meaningful to see this level of thoughtfulness and humanity.
