Yet another gamejam game I abandoned after 3 days lol Idea was to be playing a dice game you don't know the arbitrary/random scoring system of and trying to figure out the rules as you go. Tried designing a board game but realized I'm terrible at that lol #gamedev #indiegame

@bebetheboi oh this is definitely not like 1:1 accurate physics based rolling system if you want that. this is just a fake rolling animation which then chooses the correct side once the die stops and rotates the dice to the correct side based on what was the number rolled

@ItsPolyCube Okay thanks, that's easier than I thought haha. How would you handle dices with visible different patterns on the sides? I understand that number is choosen at the start by RNG - i would like to have other numbers (in my case sprites) on sides.

@cranberryclock that was the idea - to have like foreign sygils appear and you have to note down on paper what they do on future runs but well I kinda lost the sauce with this game now

I like this idea. Pitch: what if you were taken hostage by an alien gambling casino cartel and the stakes are your life. You can just make up smushes of small ideas that don’t make sense, find a pattern they share (small numbers, spaces etc). Warioware style, a bunch of small mini games all built around this wierd scoring. Maybe you have to lose and not get to the end, or maybe you win if you get to the end and get the XXX from XXX game, multi faceted mechanics and win conditions can arise from silly things you throw together.

@ItsPolyCube I’ve been watching your stuff for awhile and the ‘juice’ and feed back you have in all of your demos and game jams are just phenomenal. Do you have any tips or resources? I’d kill to get my demos to feel as have as good as yours.
