@bebetheboi oh this is definitely not like 1:1 accurate physics based rolling system if you want that. this is just a fake rolling animation which then chooses the correct side once the die stops and rotates the dice to the correct side based on what was the number rolled
English

Yet another gamejam game I abandoned after 3 days lol
Idea was to be playing a dice game you don't know the arbitrary/random scoring system of and trying to figure out the rules as you go. Tried designing a board game but realized I'm terrible at that lol

@ItsPolyCube Ouuu, would you still make it in Unity or try to fake it on blender and then smash animations on screen and swap dices?
English

@aylinskies My name is Sebastian, when i change first letter with my surname it goes Bebastian. Beba sounds like baby - in Polish people often calls babies bebe do here i am. bebe boi boi
English

@ItsPolyCube Okay thanks, that's easier than I thought haha. How would you handle dices with visible different patterns on the sides? I understand that number is choosen at the start by RNG - i would like to have other numbers (in my case sprites) on sides.
English

@bebetheboi I'm just using physics with low friction so the dice slide around and also rotate them based on their velocity
English

@ChinaNipona Actually it's so cool that they were able to do that :)

@EracuStudios When working on bloodwest (3years) i was employed and after that I'v got a chance to guide my own team while working on Postal. After that i went back to Bloodwest to work on the next DLC
English

@bebetheboi But do you work on a team as an employee, or is it your own team?
English

@ggsimm I think i do. It's kinda old footage with no proper dungeon but Hey, its something

@Nox_A15 One thing I'm very proud of is how i manged to work with prefabs and their variants:
I have one Room_Base with all the settings and variants of that Base Room. It makes adding scripts, triggers and stuff so much easier since all of the children inherits the changes!

English

@bebetheboi Yep, in my current project I'm also creating level design tools as quickly as possible and iterate on them when needed. May seem like a bother but is actually a huge time saver. Very satisfying when done right too.
English

@MjTheHunter Haven't gotten to that point yet but hmm.. It sounds more like a burnout rather than bad game overall so maybe take a break for week or two?
