@AnnaNikolo@MarkJCarney It should but it should be a municipal/provincial investment. Not a federal investment. And especially at a time where so many Canadians are struggling to get healthcare, Find a job, pay rent, afford groceries etc
We’re putting nearly $200M toward critical infrastructure upgrades across Toronto, including public transit — improving the TTC for faster, more reliable commutes.
@markhmasters@BarDown Well yeah, because tickets were a reasonable price and aimed at actual fans not the suits trying to impress business partners.
Real fans are loud and passionate. Suits use the tickets as a status symbol. But MLSE doesnt care bc a ticket sold is a ticket sold 🤷♀️
@reporterchris@TheAthletic He still has 2 years of his contract left. If he asks for a trade the 1 year since hes been in the nhl that they wont make the playoffs, it shows what kind of guy he is.
I think, like McDavid, his opinions on coach/roster should be listened to. Especially after the no response
@Variety I don’t like it, but if the family has given their blessing, who cares about my opinion.
I am curious if AI Val Kilmer (aka Val’s estate) gets paid the remaining money the Real Val Kilmer was owed?
FIRST LOOK: Val Kilmer has been resurrected via AI to star in the new movie "As Deep as the Grave."
Kilmer was cast in the movie in 2020, five years before his death. But he was too sick amid his throat cancer battle to ever make it to set. Now an AI version of the actor is appearing in the film, with the full blessing of his daughter, Mercedes: "He always looked at emerging technologies with optimism as a tool to expand the possibilities of storytelling. This spirit is something that we are all honoring within this specific film, of which he was an integral part.”
“He was the actor I wanted to play this role,” says writer-director Coerte Voorhees. “It was very much designed around him. It drew on his Native American heritage and his ties to and love of the Southwest... His family kept saying how important they thought the movie was and that Val really wanted to be a part of this. He really thought it was important story that he wanted his name on. It was that support that gave me the confidence to say, okay let’s do this. Despite the fact some people might call it controversial, this is what Val wanted.”

@CityNewsTO Just what we need more announcements about alcohol. Lets not worry about the healthcare, job or housing market crisis in Ontario right now. No no, lets focus on anything to do with alcohol

@EricEngels Theres also the issue that the league doesnt hold them (refs or DoPs) accountable by having media availability and fines players and coaches who speak up against them.
Refs should have media availability and DoPs should be an independent 3rd party not associated with the nhl
@EricEngels This is the same type of reply as to when Bettman said that the NHL refs were “the best in the world”
Nothing is wrong with either in their eyes and thats the problem. Unwillingness to accept criticism and change is a problem.
NHL DoPS head George Parros responding to Connor McDavid's call for an examination of the suspension process: “We sweat over these decisions and pour over these decisions every night, all season long. We have a process in place that’s consistent, and we have a team that works for me, and together with me, that evaluates all these plays. A very experienced team, a veteran team. Guys that have been there since the beginning of the department. Not to mention all the former players that have a large set of experiences playing NHL games, accolades. Some of the best guys that have played the game work for this department help make decisions. So, our process, I feel very confident in. We’ve got great guys who make these decisions, and I think the players should be confident in this team to do so.”
