@Nicky_G1990wba @ToastedJonas @shilensays Norway have got better midfielders on the national team. Getting in ahead of Berge, Odegaard or even Nusa for that wide midfielder role is a big ask. He has played international football though only a handful of times.

Let's do the maths here:- #wba Archer signed for Southampton on a 4 year contract in August 2024 for a reported fee of £15m plus £2-2.6m in add-ons. That fee will be being amortised in Southampton's accounts over 4 years at £3.75m a year - assuming the add-ons clause hasn't been activated - two have which have already been completed. So they go into this financial year with Archer having a net book value of £7.5m, which then will be immediately written down by another £3.75m. That will be shown as an operating loss in their accounts and SCR calculation, leaving Archer with a remaining net book value of £3.75m on the club's balance sheet. However, if they sell Archer this season then his remaining net book value also has to be written down in their accounts this season, increasing the operating loss of £7.5m. So, just to break even on the sale of Archer this season, Southampton need a transfer fee of £7.5m. Anything less than that means booking a loss into their accounts and SCR calculation.

Interesting what happens with our ‘wide options’. Currently I’d consider Johnston, Price, Bany and Whitwell as our 4 options. The fitness of Bany and whether Whitwell needs a loan you’d imagine will determine whether we need to sign 1 or 2 wingers. #wba

@paulob5_ Fair enough, Kone would be the other example (got injured for a fair while last season) for QPR. 10 Goals and 2 assists. Charlton don't exactly play in a way that helps chance creation either but I take your point. Any signing a gamble...JJM for example.

@ItsSamson2 Kelman scored more the season before in league 1 i think and had more experience under his belt, age 24. Went to chalrton for around 5m and scored 6 goals last season...

Would be great to have strong ties abroad where possible and having watched their game yesterday and seen how (admittedly small sample) conduct themselves on here seem like a very good fanbase.

Reputations count.. To be recruited by Albion has a lot of justified clout in Scandinavia, nurturing and developing talent is a huge plus and an attraction. Reputation can only be earned, brilliant that the payback is a signing like Myhre’s is today for us. Reputation pays off
