@AtifRMian @Me_AliKhan I'm now using my petrol bike after one year of Scooty. Electric bikes: weak suspension, low ground clearance poor water resistance specially on Pakistani roads.

Brother EV Bikes and their poor battery performance costs the same after an year or two when battery cycles are completed. E-Bikes may sound fascinating to you but those who used it, has this to say after an year when battery needs repair or replacement 🖐
Atif Mian@AtifRMian

Petrol at Rs 30/litre in Pakistan sounds crazy. It is not. What is crazy is the policy failure that prevents it. Petrol is around Rs 300/litre today, excluding government levy, here's how it can effectively be Rs 30/litre. People do not consume petrol for its own sake; they use it to travel. The average Pakistani rides a motorbike. A fuel-efficient motorbike can travel about 60 km on one litre. An efficient electric scooter can travel about 30 km per kWh, so it needs only 2 kWh to cover the same 60 km. What should 2 kWh cost in Pakistan? Pakistan is one of the best places in the world for solar, with an all-in LCOE cost of around 5 cents per kWh. The electricity cost is 10 cents, or Rs 30/litre of distance travelled! The Rs 30/litre calculation remains the same for cars. The 300-versus-30 gap is the cost of bad policy. It reflects billions of dollars of saving that could instead finance EV infrastructure: charging, distribution, battery swapping, and smart pricing software etc. - boosting much-needed domestic investment. Since solar is highly modular. You do not need massive scale to get reasonable efficiency. That creates business and employment opportunities for small domestic power producers. Instead, Pakistan leaned into large fossil-fuel plants financed by dollar-denominated borrowing and guaranteed returns. Local firms face credit constraints, but solar creates a natural collateralizable cash flow through electricity sales to the grid. With the right regulatory framework, this could have unlocked large private domestic investment, and employment. Battery swapping is another area where small local businesses could have emerged and scaled. Electricity enables smart pricing. When solar supply is abundant, prices can fall, and poor households and firms can shift usage to cheaper hours - automatic demand stabilization Better air quality would mean longer, healthier lives and higher productivity. That is a growth multiplier Green technology industries could be developed domestically with the right industrial policy, easing balance-of-payments pressure while raising employment and investment. Instead, Pakistan chose imported-fuel power plants, protected a backward-looking domestic auto sector, and raised electricity prices by burdening them with the fixed costs of those plants and heavy taxation, slowing EV adoption. Then came the net-metering fiasco, all to keep zombie power plants alive. Pakistan’s energy policy may be the clearest example of a broken nervous system. I hope someone fixes it, because people are paying the price, 300-versus-30

“The bad news is that we have not reached an agreement. And I think that's bad news for Iran much more than it's bad news for the US. So, we go back to the US having not come to an agreement ... they have chosen not to accept our terms” JD Vance during his press talk in Islamabad

Apparently consoled by the idea that jets can be shot down in wartime, some Indians are finally acknowledging their losses in the May conflict. Dear Indians, American F-15s were shot down by friendly fire from Kuwaiti air defenses while flying OVER Kuwait. That happened amid radar saturation caused by Iranian missiles and drones, where friend-or-foe identification broke down. In contrast, in 2019 you were so rattled that you shot down your own Mi-17, killing seven of your personnel. In May, Indian jets were shot down in greater numbers by the PAF within your own territory. One may argue that Pakistan’s superior electronic warfare blinded Indian formations, as suggested by the “Godzilla” recording played by AVM Aurangzeb. But decide for yourself: is that really an excuse, or another an admission of failure?

Declaring “it’s over” is intellectual laziness. Generations don’t overthrow systems on podcasts and hashtags. Internet access ≠ wisdom, dissent ≠ governance. PTI sold rebellion without capacity, outrage without reform. Nations don’t fail because youth think freely, they fail when slogans replace competence and experience is treated as a crime.

Please read this brilliant article by Zorain Nizamani, a PhD student at the University of Arkansas, in which he bluntly tells Pakistan’s ruling elite that Gen Z is no longer falling for their attempts to manipulate and control narratives. Not surprisingly, this article is no longer accessible through the Express Tribune’s digital edition—exactly the kind of censorship Zorain talks about. He is right. It really is over for those who think they can continue to get away with these crude tactics. “You can orchestrate all the wars you want; Gen Z will make memes out of it. Censor all the mainstream media, Gen Z will jump to platforms like Rumble, YouTube and Discord to voice their opinions. Boomers, you cannot censor thoughts now. Gone are the days when you could fool the people. No one's being fooled anymore”

Tommy Robinson 🇬🇧@TRobinsonNewEra·
I’ve only just sat down to write my response to this invitation I confirm that immediately following my October 13th trial, I will travel to Israel. The horrific Manchester attack has strengthened my conviction that the United Kingdom and Israel are fighting the same battle—against the scourge of Islamic jihad. Their fight is our fight. I have accepted an invitation by the Government of Israel to cover the cost of my flight and hotel stay for a few days. To be clear, I am not receiving money or any compensation, this visit is about solidarity, truth, and courage. I’m a proud British patriot and a Zionist. I have said so many times If Muslims have 55 nations why can’t the Jews have 1, especially their legitimate ancestral homeland . During my trip, I will visit Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria, the site of the Nova Festival, and other October 7th locations that stand as painful reminders of the evil we are facing. I will visit Yad Vashem, and the Jabotinsky Institute, where I will learn and deepen my understanding of the roots of Zionism and the ongoing fight for Jewish survival. Jabotinsky is the ideological forefather of Prime Minister Netanyahu, one of the great leaders of the world. I don’t know enough on this subject so I’d like to learn more I will visit the Knesset and meet with leaders of the Israeli government, including Minister Amichai Chikli, Israel’s Diaspora Minister who invited me, as well as many others. I have also scheduled meetings with representatives of other nations who maintain missions in Israel. As a Christian, I am deeply moved to also walk in the footsteps of my own faith. I intend to visit key Christian holy sites, including the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem, the Sea of Galilee, and more. I will visit the sacred places where Christianity was born. I also hope to get into Gaza I am excited to walk the streets of Jerusalem, to meet the people of Israel, and to stand shoulder to shoulder with a nation that refuses to surrender in the face of terror. When Jews are attacked, the free world is attacked. Brits were murdered in our streets and jihadi terror is worldwide. The people of Britain and the people of Israel share the same enemies and the same destiny. I come as a friend, as an ally, and as someone who believes that the strength of Israel is the strength of the West. If Israel falls we all fall, Hamas made it clear on October 8th their goal is not only to conquer Israel but also to conquer London & New York, they are bloodthirsty jihadists with a global caliphate as their goal . Hamas = ISIS I look forward to learning, to paying respects, to celebrating the courage of this nation, and to carrying that spirit back home with me. NO SURRENDER 🇬🇧 🇮🇱 thank you @AmichaiChikli for the invite

In the wake of the horrific Manchester terrorist attack, Israel and the Jewish people stand firmly with our allies in the United Kingdom. On behalf of the State of Israel, I am proud to host British patriot @TRobinsonNewEra who will visit Israel in mid-October. Tommy is a courageous leader on the front line against radical Islam. At a time when Jews across Europe face rising antisemitism, it is vital to strengthen bonds with allies who refuse to be silent. He has proven himself a true friend of Israel and the Jewish people, unafraid to speak the truth and confront hate. Israel will always stand with the Jewish community and our allies worldwide. Together with friends like Tommy Robinson, we will build stronger bridges of solidarity, fight terror, and defend Western civilization and our shared values.
