I truly appreciate this statement by Mayor Martinez Ferrada. When a mayor shows a municipal police force that she and her administration will have their back when they apply the law it makes a material difference. This is exactly what is needed across the country.

Spoke this morning with Israeli Foreign Minister @gidonsaar to raise Canada’s serious concern with Israel’s mistreatment of Canadian participants in the flotilla. I raised that denying Canadian citizens access to consular services while they were detained violates the Vienna Convention and must never happen again. Canada is providing Israeli authorities with evidence of this mistreatment. We have asked for and expect an independent investigation and those responsible to be held to account. We also discussed the deplorable rise of antisemitism in Canada and the steps that the Government of Canada is taking to protect Canada’s Jewish community from hate and violence.

I highly suggest that @MarkJCarney speak to @gidonsaar and find out how to improve the Canadian economy by sampling how Israel is outperforming Canada by a mile these days. Concentrate more on fixing Canada than breaking international friendships over supporting jihadists.
