@katyahina_417 @GilvanV01181400 I think that her hair is fairly definitively white, and the important detail of a characters' eyes is what the visible color is, not the creation menu mechanics used. I feel Rakshasa's features and location fairly clearly imply her shaman origins.

@GilvanV01181400 Oh, Rakshasa is not a Shaman at all! She is from Land of Reeds and also a Tarnished! Seems to be Albino Asian (her real eyes are dark blue, green is shading, and her hair is "pale yellow", not white!) Otherwise yes, absolutely! Villagers ARE descendants of Shamans!

"Two fiercely thunderous souls, a mighty dragon and its beloved lord, each teasing out the other’s dearest emotions." For those interested, I have presented my take on the theory that Fortissax was Godwyn's consort, and the Golden Lineage are Draconians: tumblr.com/ivorybranch/81…

@ResurRylan @HkonMk Indeed! The evidence is too much for a single tweet, but Miquella very much seems to have had a skill for both spirit arts and craftsmanship (namely, delicate, intricate goldwork). Ironically, the Tarnished is his last resort; an act of gentle, distant guidance and blind trust.

@astralclocktwr I yearn for the day folks give some love to Simple Gratia; a red-haired hunter of towering stature and incredible strength, viewed by the people as a heroic figure, the unrecognized precursor to Malenia, arguably a thematic cousin to Dark Souls' Pharis, and just incredibly neat.

@modormouth @astralclocktwr I think of how Arianna, being a sex worker in a Victorian-analogous period, almost certainly had experience with aborted pregnancies prior, and so one can only imagine the mounting horror and disbelief she feels as an entire immaculate birth is forced upon her in a single night.

@orchardviki @Invinium Yes, though I don't personally involve Radagon, I do also ascribe to the idea that the threat to Sellia was either fabricated outright, or induced by Radahn himself at the Golden Order's behest, to create a situation he could "save" it from and justify halting the stars.

The funniest thing about this statement is that Radahn isn't even a follower of the golden order. He's friends with noxxans, misbegotten, and albunratics. Literal enemies of the order. He adores what godfrey stood for as a warrior but not on his religious beliefs.
TIGO IS A DEAD MAN@TigoODonnell

Radahn works for me because he’s less of a character and more of a symbol of the Golden Order’s Power in its most brutal form, a warlord who conquered the stars, adorned in the golden lions of Godfrey, using the gravity magic of Raya Lucaria, and the hair of Radagon.

@Invinium @orchardviki As for his youth, consider that the GO's best/only sorcery inroad was a Carian prince who admired the Elden Lord. Should he succeed, the Carians' fate is neutered, and should he fail, a Nox-influenced town is harmed, the failure falling upon Caria. The GO benefits either way.

@Invinium @orchardviki I'm sorry, but I feel there is just too much emphasis placed on "fate cannot move while Radahn holds the stars in place" to ascribe the "fettering" of fate to anything else. The Fingerslayer Blade is actually untouchable prior to Radahn's death seemingly for this very reason:

@Invinium -something you hold as key criteria for Radahn representing the old order, then you are right, he doesn't. But I feel that, to the victims, whether the god in whose name they're conquered is Marika or Miquella hardly matters. In practice, Radahn still carries that brutal legacy.

@Invinium I suppose we might be splitting hairs a bit then; I very much feel that Radahn's thirst for war embodies the essence of the Golden Order, rendering him a scion of the old order for all practical purposes, even in lieu of the religious component. If that element of faith is-

@Invinium I actually don't take the Grandam as at all alluding to that; I've got my rationale for it here in these replies, specifically trying to reconcile with the film set pictures: x.com/i/status/20503…

@cyrus2049 Respectfully, I feel there's decent evidence to the contrary. Both Omen Bairns describe Omen as "curseborn," and both those tools and Omen with intact horns can summon wraiths, stated to be "the vengeful spirits of those who died when cursed." Meanwhile, Omensmirk Masks are-

@Invinium -not have been exiled until after Morgott and Mohg's birth, and Miquella can't have been born until after Godfrey was exiled, meaning the crusade, and Radahn reaching young adulthood, was long before Miquella and Malenia were born.

@Invinium I'm aware of the complexities of localization, and generally trust Frognation's work. I've neglected to bring up the timeline: The Omen curse very evidently arose as a result of the crusade. Radahn was in his prime by the time of the crusade, and Gaius joining it. Godfrey could-

@Invinium @orchardviki -what actually threatened Sellia to warrant him halting the stars (or at least their light). The meteor lands in Limgrave, no Astel or even impact sites are seen near Sellia, and the fettering of fate (i.e., the stars) is directly attributed to the Golden Order.

@Invinium @orchardviki The Greater Will banished the Nox underground; it was specifically Radahn who halted the movement of fate. We know it's understood in-universe as Radahn protecting Sellia, but FromSoft in general, and ER especially, makes heavy use of unreliable narration, and it's very unclear-

@TigoODonnell Yes! Radahn's minimal characterization is deliberate, and among his few defining traits is an idolization of conquest and his red hair, both specifically things his gentler, more egalitarian father recanted and hated (the latter for the very associations Radahn glorifies).

In a gender analysis as well, he’s also the most blatant representation of masculinity within Elden Ring, which of course can be read in numerous different ways.

As much as I like Radahn, him taking too much portion of the narrative while having zero characterization kinda annoyed me. Bro is "kind and strong" and that's it. Something about him doesn't sit right to me

@Invinium If anything, that condemns him further; Godfrey was waging conquest for a divine purpose, while Radahn facilitated the birth of a divinity to justify his conquest. Regardless of motive or faith, he still idolizes war, and acts in accordance with the Golden Order's M.O.

@IvoryBranchYore connotation behind it. The wars of the golden order were waged in the name of religion, Radahn wages it in service to either himself or another purpose that isn't linked to religion.

@Invinium -not to Miquella and Radahn. It is among the few points where the EN text's phrasing is misleading to such a degree, but the JP text makes clearer it is referring to Miquella and Malenia. Here is an excellent thread on some of Miquella's lost nuances: reddit.com/r/EldenRingLor….

@Invinium You're missing what Radahn represents: a young man who *wasn't* part of the old order's brutality, but *wishes* he was. He is comparable to, for example, Kylo Ren. Idolizing an era of conquest he himself was too late to join. Also, "their childhood" is referring to the twins,-
