Why do narcissists/psychopaths/coercive controllers (predators) love working with or running charities? 1. They are less likely to be suspected of nefarious intent. 2. Governance structures are minimal or non-existent so it is easier to steal money, purchase goods for personal use or employ family and friends at high wages who will not report them if they are exposed. 3. It is good for their image, their constructed facade. 4. Regulatory bodies for charities in most countries have limited resources to hold charities accountable. N/p/cc will often go on boards or become ambassadors for charities that support causes associated with their anti-social behaviours. For example, domestic abusers might connect with DV charities and paedophiles with children’s charities. I know of 3 charities run by narcissists/psychopaths/coercive controllers.

@merry123459 CBC is not what it used to be. I realized that when they gave forced-birth advocates a platform last year. I think right-wing takeover of media can happen stealthily, without a magnate actually purchasing the media outlet.

@MomLook123 @karenmitchell__ Yes, I was recently targeted in a volunteer position. I should have left sooner but I was very devoted to the work of the organization. I bet it happens a lot at non-profits.

@karenmitchell__ Thank you for this list. We focus too much on domestic relationships with PPP. What if you refused them? What if you’re at work? Or a volunteer? They target people there! They damage people everywhere. Let’s talk about halting their influence on society and culture.

What is it like to be targeted by a narcissist/psychopath at work? 1. Isolating - you notice you are being left out of important meetings and other events. 2. Humiliating - you are sometimes publicly demeaned and your work criticised. 3. Distressing - you sense you are being undermined but you don’t know how exactly or to whom. You are not given appropriate resources to get the job done or resources are taken away. The goalposts keep being moved. 4. Frustrating - you notice your ideas or your work are being ‘stolen’, that the narcissist/psychopath is taking credit for them. 5. Demotivating - you dread going to work. An environment you once enjoyed now feels toxic. You feel nervous around people you previously had good relationships with. 6. Exhausting - you spend a lot of time trying to work out what is going on behind your back, what actions to take to sort things out, who you should speak to get support. 7. Physically compromising - the concern about the work situation is causing you sleep loss, anxiety, headaches, digestive issues and/or other physical symptoms. 8. Personally compromising - your stress spills into your home life. Your relationships start to suffer. You experience less joy. 9. Fear provoking - the narcissist/psychopath bullies you and uses intimidation. 10. Confusing - the narcissist/psychopath and possibly other people who have been inadvertently manipulated by the n/p claim they have not received emails you sent, that you were notified of a meeting yet you have no evidence of it etc.

Why would a father request to be in the room for his daughter’s gyno visit? Especially when she didn’t want him in there? And he kept pushing, and was angry because the doctor said “No”. Why would a father think he has the right to go into the appointment? That’s just super creepy. Very creepy.
