What utter garbage. @Nanaakua1 is English and British There is no room in any serious political party for ethnically based nationalism. Yes the rate of demographic change is of huge concern Yes mass migration combined with multiculturalism is undermining our national identity Yes progressive discrimination is a disaster. But Nana is English and British. Ethno-nationalism is inherently un-British. It would lead our wonderful country into a very dark alley.

As @KonstantinKisin wrote earlier Britain is not an ethno-state on par with Japan. It has spent centuries exporting ‘Britishness’ as a civic identity (my Tamil ancestors of Ceylon were British subjects). While the imperial project no longer exists, the 2-300 yr civic identity of being British has never been rolled back to an exclusively ethnic one (if I’m not mistaken historians like Starkey believe it never was). It has instead been rolled back to a position of equal rights. The entire apparatus of state, constitution and civil rights rests on the British civic identity. To suddenly ignore or bypass this would force an alien and tiered system of Britishness that I do not believe the country is ready for (aside from being politically impossible to sell). Mass immigration has been a disaster and disturbed the instinctive apprehension of ‘Britishness’. But the solution is not officially dividing us up into ‘native’ and ‘non native’. It is strict border control, mass deportations and as many cultural safeguards as possible.
