We should still ban them. It immediately opens a bunch of homes to people living in the city and if landlords feel it's no longer a worthwhile investment they can re-assess their risk profile and sell to someone who may actually live in the home.

We need to cap rents, provide cheaper mortgages, build public housing, kickstart a just energy transition, overturn the anti-protest laws, and actually invest in our health & education services. It's governments' job to support regular people especially as costs rise.

Minns ruling out free public transport is embarrassing. Govs have a choice during a crisis whether to support everyday people or hoard a budget that backs in their corporate mates. Them hand wringing about cost is them being happy for us to pay the price of this crisis.

Australia’s government gave its support for this. Civilians are never supposed to be targets and yet it’s so normalised now it will cause those in support to barely blink.
