Looking for a new cutlery set. How many of you were brought up using soup spoons? Why can't you get sets with soup spoons anymore?

@carlosecarlos04 @MikeLevin I live in Europe, in Scotland 2.2% of our population are Muslim and 93% are white. What you describe doesn’t reflect my daily experience. As for US helping us in war, we paid ten times over for WW1 and 2 support. We even, at our expense, supported you in an illegal war in 2004.

Let me tell you something Mr. Bullshit Politician - FUCK EUROPE and FUCK NATO. Freeloading bastards - they haven't pulled their weight in 85+ years. Europe has been destroyed by mass migration/invasion and you and your pals are trying it here in the US - FAFO - politicians won't be important in the end...

This is truly insane, and it should be front page news across America.  Denmark secretly deployed soldiers to Greenland prepared to blow up airport runways to stop a U.S. invasion. They brought blood supplies to treat the wounded. France, Germany, Norway, and Sweden quietly coordinated against us. This was not a drill. This was our closest allies preparing to fight Americans. Let that sink in. NATO allies. Countries whose soldiers have fought and died alongside ours for decades. They looked at this president and decided they had to prepare for the worst. Fewer allies does not make America great. It makes us more isolated, more vulnerable, and it hands Russia and China exactly what they have always wanted: an America abandoned by its friends. The American people deserve to know how badly this president has damaged our standing in the world.  bbc.com/news/articles/…

Wait are there actually people who think the law is changing & folk will turn round at 38 weeks pregnant and say "actually doctor this isn't for me" and get a next-day abortion? 😭

Full term abortion HAS NOT been legalised. Stop spreading lies! They are legal up to 23 weeks abortion after 24 weeks are only permitted under specific circumstances. Facts are important.

@J_Miller175 @InchOrInfinity No, it is still illegal, the criteria for legal abortion remains the same. This bill means that the pregnant woman would not face criminal prosecution, it does not legalised the act.

Abortionists keep saying "it only legalises abortion up to birth for the woman" as if it's a flex. It is arguably worse. All it means is: a woman can order pills online and have a late-term abortion by herself with no medical supervision, putting her own life at risk too. Totally insane and evil.

🚨BREAKING: 3 Boys Accused Of Raping A Girl & Filming It Found Not Guilty 🛑The teenage girl, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was allegedly raped just off a footpath near to Newbold tram stop in Rochdale in February 2024, 🛑Prosecutors alleged the defendants -[took] it in turns' and 'swapped positions' during the incident. 🛑In the footage, which was played to the jury, 'clapping' noises could be heard, along with a voice telling the girl to 's*** it'. It was said the now 16-year-old could be seen behind the girl, while the now 15-year-old was filming. The now 14-year-old was said to have 'slapped her bottom'. 🛑Following the two-week trial, all three boys were cleared of all charges by a jury. I would personally like an ethnicity check on the boys and the jury!

@LoisMcLatch The ‘people’ consistently support assisted dying, it’s their MSP’s who deny them their say. This is such a significant issue the people should have a direct say via a refferendum.

Those who support assisted su!c!de plan to bring the debate back again and again until they get the answer they want. That’s not respecting democracy. The people of Scotland have spoken, clearly. This concept is far too dangerous for far too many vulnerable people. 💉

A mum popped into our office looking for the Children’s Therapy office next door. The child is going to see a physical therapist because she’s not crawling yet. She not 1 yr old yet. Would you be worried if your child wasn’t crawling yet? Just wondering.

@IzziDaly @SignifyingMonky @JamesPGoddard90 Correct... but the argument is whether or not rape was proven. In this case it was not - the only reason it could not have been proven is because it must've been shown she consented

@JamesPGoddard90 People in the comments can cry about it as much as they like, but they're clearly not looking at the verdict and why it was given. In order to prove rape, it must be non consensual - they must've seen or heard evidence that showed the girl was an active participant

@Mandy92952225 @IrisDuane This bill was to support people who are in their last months to have a dignified death if they chose. It wouldn’t have impacted on you or anyone else with a chronic pain condition or living with a disability.

@IrisDuane As someone with a chronic pain condition I agree. I am in agony almost every day and from able bodied people today I have seen they would rather we chose to die than fight for us to have adequate pain relief and services to give us a decent life.

@david_duguid @HumzaYousaf Perhaps Holyrood (MSP’s, civil servants, legal support) doesn’t have the skills or structures needed to make good law, on this, or many more issues.

I completely agree with this post from @HumzaYousaf! 😳 As I said in my article👇 on #AssistedDying, “Empathising with the principle of assisted dying does not oblige anyone to support THIS particular Bill”, particularly if concerns about risks like coercion are left unresolved.

Humza Yousaf@HumzaYousaf

I can't think of a more consequential Bill on which to make my final speech as an MSP I've immense empathy for those suffering with a terminal illness. However, I cannot in good conscience support legislation that could be abused to coerce the most vulnerable to end their lives.

@david_duguid I’m in favour of assisted dying for those who are terminally ill and choose this option, however intransigence on safeguarding issues like this made the failure of this Bill inevitable. Same as the one going through Westminster.

Why WOULD the idea of #AssistedDying be brought up first by ANYONE other than the patient? If the reasons advocated by those in favour of the Bill are present, SURELY the first person to be aware would be the patient?
Right To Life UK@RightToLifeUK

💯@JamieHepburn shares his disappointment that MSPs voted against an amendment that would have meant assisted suicide would have to be first raised by patients, not doctors. This Bill is dangerous and MSPs must vote against it!

@IzziDaly @LoisMcLatch Again & again & again it has been detailed in debates & discussions that dying with dignity, pain free is actually called properly funded, fully caring & top quality, expertly led palliative care. Assisted suicide is not dignified or pain free. You've been deceived.
