@5sec2midnight @amuse Context is king and this post is missing a whole heap of it. He was arrested as the photo he posted on LinkedIn was in the context of threatening an ex business partner he’s in a legal battle with. Combined with multiple breaches of stalking police orders.

UK: A Brit posted photo of him holding a shotgun while on holiday in Florida, when he returned home UK police arrested him, seized his devices, jailed him overnight for violating the 1986 Public Order Act. The process was the punishment. After sharing a photo of himself posing with a legally possessed shotgun at a Florida shooting range, a British man was arrested, locked in a cell overnight, interrogated, and lectured that he “must understand how posts make people feel.” Police seized his computer and phone, wiping out his ability to work. Weeks later, all charges were quietly dropped because they were baseless from the start. Critics say the ordeal proves the UK has turned social media into a surveillance trap where innocent people are punished by process alone. h/t @Artemisfornow

@writethewrongs2 @dave43law Not sure I agree on the echo chamber. I still get views on my timeline I strongly agree and disagree with. Maybe you are only interacting with only 1 type of political view hence your timeline shows more of that view. Agree with the rest

@J8Dom @dave43law The trouble is this..if we take Musk, he has turned this platform into an echo chamber. I don't follow him but all I see are his posts and those posts with extreme views. Multiply that by millions of views and it affects people. I wouldn't mind if his posts were factual!

Note the arrogance that having a few quid in the bank gives someone who has no knowledge nor interest in the reality It is all a game and he knows he is untouchable as he controls the platform

Whilst I agree I still hold my stance on not making censorship laws. The way I see it is you take the bad with the good. Take driving for example. In 2024 there were ~1,600 fatalities on the roads in the UK. It's terrible but we as a society accept that's the price to pay to be able to drive

@J8Dom @dave43law Common limitations or boundaries to freedom of speech relate to libel, slander, obscenity, pornography, sedition, incitement, fighting words, hate speech...and others.

Don't use strawman fallacy on me. I never said that. You're talking about legal action here. Not what is right or wrong. Free speech is important. It allows all ideas, good & bad to be discussed. With censorship you don't have true freedom. Only what is being controlled by those in power

I believe projects that left Cardano over the past couple years to focus on other chains did so because ADA didn’t grow in value as expected against the hype of other chains. Excuses were made to defend these actions by dev teams. Now, they are kicking themselves for being short sighted and impatient.
