Yes, your rent went up. Seattle rents are up over 45% in the last 15 years. And wages haven't kept pace. Homelessness is a policy failure, not an inevitability. We know what works. We just have to fight for it.

Why was this Bob Ferguson's worst week ever? - He tried to get Starbucks to stay in Seattle & failed - Janicki Industries is pursuing out-of-state growth - He violated ethics laws & was fined $4,000 after allowing a former adviser to travel on the state plane's toilet

@komonews Prosecute any violation of Washington State Gun laws to the fullest extent of the law, no excuse. Stop activist judges from reducing sentences or releasing repeat firearms related offenders.

@GoodSamLI your medical center lot is a mess. You should really look at traffic flow patterns, turning down an unexpected 1 way due to an area being closed for valet & compact only and trying to do a 3 point turn with traffic stacked behind is unacceptable.

Florida requires bipartisan supervised voting teams in nursing homes. Colorado limits ballot collection to 10 per person. Minnesota caps it at 3. Georgia makes unauthorized collection a felony. Washington? Nothing at all. You can legally collect unlimited ballots, get paid to do it, and walk into a nursing home room to “help” with unlimited voters. None of that is illegal here. Does this sound like “safe and secure” to you, @electhobbs?

@gundosedaily There is no "one size fits all" solution. Firearms choice is based on need, hand strength, dexterity, clothing, method of carry, threat, and the carry environment such as what you carry hunting would be different than how you carry in a car. So many factors to be considered.

Intel from NRA Show. Gun makers say single stack 1911 sales are near dead. DS 1911s are selling. Next -- thinner grips on double stack 1911s. Think of DS striker gun mags in 1911. Not a new idea, but more coming. Maybe the sweet spot. ??

@komonews @CityofTacoma what's going on? Whay are gas, property, and sales taxes being used for? Maybe an audit that includes a civilian oversight committee should be considered.

New funding is needed to halt the decline of Tacoma’s roads, city leaders say the safety risks could grow, and on Tuesday, the Tacoma City Council adopted Resolution 41890, sending the ballot measure "Connect Tacoma: Safe Streets and Sidewalks" to the Pierce County Auditor for placement on the Aug. 4 Primary Election ballot. The decision could shape how people in Tacoma get around for the next decade.

@future42org When there is no rainy day fund because the legislature spent it, there is no leeway for a tax holiday during an emergency.

"Have you given any consideration to a gas tax holiday?" Weeks ago, KIRO7's Brandon Thompson asked Gov. Bob Ferguson directly if he will suspend our gas and climate taxes. Non answer, even as we touch the $6 mark at many gas stations. Another great highlight from this segment is the breakdown of exactly what taxes we pay per gallon of gas, and why Washington is so much more expensive than both neighboring states👇 WA Gas Tax: $0.55 WA Hazard Tax: $0.04 WA Low Carbon Fuel Tax: $0.04 WA Climate Tax: $0.55 Total WA Taxes on Gas: $1.18 per gallon (Great segment, Mr. Thompson) @BThompsonNews | @KIRO7Seattle 'Gas Tax Holiday? Japan doesn't have a culture of carrying guns, but in other countries, people carry them for self-defense or in competitions. What are some important considerations when it comes to the functionality of a holster? For example, ease of drawing or the holster's position?

Lawsuit to challenge WA state’s new income tax will be filed Thursday April 9. It’s headed by former AG Rob McKenna. Gov Ferguson says he’s confident the ‘Millionaires Tax’ will prevail and says he’s never lost to McKenna in court in the past. #incometax #washington #politics

"You can't count Tacoma out. That's not right." In 2016, Pierce County voted AGAINST Sound Transit 3, but was taxed anyways after it passed. As a consolation prize, they would get light rail to Tacoma by 2035. Then reality struck a few years ago and they were told light rail was not going to make it to Tacoma until 2041. Now...it is likely Tacoma is not going to get light rail at all. Governor Bob Ferguson
Governor Bob Ferguson@GovBobFerguson·
Today, I signed the operating budget for Washington state. My team and I worked in close partnership with legislators to craft a budget that allows us to continue meeting Washingtonians' core needs, while also living within the state's means, despite the harm done by the Trump Administration and MAGA Congress.  We secured important wins for affordability — including assistance on health care premiums to low-income individuals and funds to help low-income residents pay utility bills. I also recently signed the Millionaires' Tax to rebalance our upside-down tax code, which goes into effect in 2029.  We mitigated harms from the Trump Administration — including providing food benefits for the 30,000 immigrants with lawful status denied SNAP benefits, backfilling Medicaid funding to Planned Parenthood, and funding healthcare for very ill or disabled Washingtonians who were kicked off Medicaid.  Our state agencies took $1 billion in reductions.  I'm grateful for our state employees who are doing more with less.  Thank you to members of the public who engaged in the process, my budget team, sponsors Sen. Robinson and Rep. Ormsby, and vice-chairs Sen. Stanford, Sen. Frame, Rep. Gregerson, and Rep. Macri.
