@FB_FilmAnalysis It’s decently well blocked because of adjustment by RT and had room to gain yards except for DT. Toss action is just to get slight flow from LBs and DTs and I love Marcus but leaving him unblocked is right move. Bounce Trey to SS, bounce doom to Sam, Bounce dot to Mike

@FB_FilmAnalysis I think West TEs went to the wrong guy. Probably planned to leave corner unblocked but they shouldn’t be working to same LB as the bounce doom. RT actually saw the mental error and adjusted to safety but the DT wasn’t displaced enough onto the face of the G and made the play.

@NoHoHankSkol_ @JASully65 @PhilMackey Idgaf who is saying what I've watched enough games and heard enough post-game interviews. Most top Qbs have control of the offense in the 2 min drill calls are usually made in spurts. They do have check with mes but Kirk shouldn't be burying his head in his helmet with 20 seconds

This is such a clown-show sequence. The fact that a 35-year-old QB needs to *wait for a coach to tell him what to do* while the clock drains from :37 seconds down to :15 is absurd. KOC either needs to let Kirk Cousins make unilateral decisions in these moments... OR Kirk needs to take control.
Will Ragatz@WillRagatz

Kevin O'Connell on the final play: "Looking back, I wish I would've clocked it and not tried to steal one there." Kirk Cousins had some trouble hearing O'Connell in his headset and the play resulted in a game-ending interception.

@JASully65 @PhilMackey Wow. You know every once in a while I make an executive decision at my job because that’s what I get paid to do.

@John31540460 @PhilMackey Respond to the questions and tell me how you know with certainty that you’ve seen any of the QBs you named overrule their head coach.

@JASully65 @PhilMackey And you seem to be unable to comprehend how easy of a decision this should be for a veteran QB.

@John31540460 @PhilMackey Seen them do this a million times? Overrule a coach that wants to run a play instead of clock it? And you confirmed this by listening to the live feed of the helmet mic? You can’t even comprehend how little you know

@JASully65 @PhilMackey Terrible take Sully and you should know better. Any savvy veteran QB clocks the ball in that situation so you have 3 tries to punch it in and time to call a play. You can't convince me otherwise. Brady, Rogers etc... we've seen them take control and do this a million times.

@plez24 @PhilMackey I think we're missing a major culprit. Not gonna be a popular statement but when your offense is on the field, BE QUIET. Home fans have a hand in this. Vikings fans love their team but they contributed to this loss

@JASully65 @PhilMackey This hust appeared that they were unprepared. How in the world do you not ALREADY KNOW on 4th down… hey, we make this we are clocking, or we are running X play. Stupid.

@chefdnel @PhilMackey What the right thing is to do in that situation is something you need to take up with KOC, not Kirk.

@chefdnel @PhilMackey Yes. He would freelance a little with route concepts where there were grey areas but never with the overall play call

@chefdnel @PhilMackey He had the play with 24 seconds on the game clock. Go watch the tape. Kirk's job is to execute the offense thats called by his coach. Period. KOC calls a play, Kirk runs it. He's part of an offensive system. A vital part but not the ultimate authority on strategy.

@chefdnel @PhilMackey So you played a lot of football where the coach talks to the QB via a microphone in his helmet? The point I'm trying to make is you don't know anything. A lot like most of the fake football experts here on twitter. Literally, you know way less than you can possibly imagine.

@chefdnel @PhilMackey You said anyone that's ever played football "knows this." I've played a lot of football, and I don't "know this", so I'm checking with the authority on how an NFL offense operates. Which you must know because of all the football you've played.

@parsons_EB @PhilMackey KOC communicating to Kirk, it was Kirk communicating the play to the rest of the offense. And overruling your HC and clocking when he called a play because communication on field is an issue is something you may get away with but its a difficult move to defend if you lose.

@parsons_EB @PhilMackey Would never take it as rude. If that was truly an issue the smart thing would be to clock it. Say if the microphone went out. But if you watch the tape Kirk clearly had the play KOC wanted with 24 seconds left on the game clock. Seems like the biggest issue here wasn't ...

@PhilMackey Obviously human beings have free will to break rules. The system dictates he does what the coach tells him to do. Ability does not equal authority. My previous tweet saying your tweet is dumb still stands. And personality wise Brett more likely than Kirk to break the rules.

@PFF_Sam NFL officials are phenomenal, the replacement refs in 2012 proved that. NFL is a tv product and the game is less compelling if the best OL in NFL history is kicked out. Not egregious so they let it slide. No different than a great QB getting calls that mediocre QBs don’t.

Lol there's a giant slo mo replay of it. How are officials so bad at this stuff?

Why wasn’t #49ers LT Trent Williams ejected Thursday night? Here’s the @mattbarrows pool report with NFL SVP of Officiating Walt Anderson, who says: “We couldn’t confirm that 100 percent from the standpoint of was it truly a closed fist with a strike.”
