The fundamental flaw in this billionaire conspiracy theory is a complete misunderstanding of how the music industry actually works. The assertion that an indie publisher managed to secure impossible, permanent rights that a giant like Rockstar Games couldn't pull off completely falls apart the moment you look at the actual tracklist. Rockstar Games licenses generation-defining, multi-platinum mega-hits. When you put massive Billboard chart-toppers into Grand Theft Auto, you are paying an astronomical premium to major record labels for top-tier intellectual property. Those agreements are almost always structured with strict expiration dates because the rights holders know they can squeeze more money out of a renewal down the road, which is why even massive legacy titles eventually see tracks patched out. Mixtape takes a completely different approach. Johnny Galvatron didn't license the massive radio staples that cost a fortune. Instead, the game relies heavily on deep cuts and cult indie favorites. Think about tracks like "Love" by The Smashing Pumpkins instead of "1979," or obscure, atmospheric B-sides from bands like Lush, Devo, and The Jesus and Mary Chain. From a licensing perspective, these are two entirely different worlds. Securing highly extended or perpetual licenses for artistic deep cuts is incredibly cost-effective because those specific tracks aren't in high demand for massive commercial campaigns. Record labels and artists are often more than happy to clear the rights permanently for a reasonable upfront fee, especially for an acclaimed indie studio with a track record of treating music with genuine respect. Conspiracy theorists want to believe a shadow syndicate of billionaires bought out the music industry for an indie project. In reality, it was just a smart, music-focused development team understanding the economics of licensing and choosing curation over raw star power.
Endymion@EndymionYT

Mixtape has music that will NEVER run out of license, not even GTA has that in their games. It’s not an indie game you retard it’s a fucking psyop project funded by billionaires & Astro turfed by games journalists to see how they can artificially power up the reach of a project by their recommendation alone. Stop sucking the industries shaft so much, at this point you’re doing tricks on it. Mixtape is about as indie as I am a biological woman x.com/gonintendotwee…

@edwardbrgr Thing is, there is no weight to the fights, everything had this big shockwave or sends everyone flying, when theoretically his opponents are the same power level as him, the fights should be regular looking brawls, not DBZ sequences.

Here’s the problem with Man of Steel though: The movie takes itself way too seriously for a Superman story that it forgot to actually give the character and his world much personality, warmth, or charm. Yeah, the punches looked “heavy,” but emotional weight and visual impact aren’t the same thing. A fight can have shockwaves and still feel emotionally empty. And camera movement really doesn’t matter when you’re not emotionally invested in what’s actually happening on screen
XEON SUPES #RestoreTheSnyderVerse@SUPESASAHI

Art of #Superman is gone~ In Man of Steel, he’s punches and kicks felt powerful enough to create shockwaves—you could feel the weight and danger behind them. Now it just feels hollow. He flies and kicks Ultraman, but there’s no impact behind it. I’m glad I love #ManOfSteel.

Mark Hamill on what he told Rian Johnson about how Jedi are supposed to behave: "I said to Rian, 'Jedis don't give up.' I mean, even if he had a problem, he would maybe take a year to try and regroup, but if he made a mistake, he would try and right that wrong. So right there, we had a fundamental difference. But it's not my story anymore." When Mark Hamill says "it's not my story anymore," do you think he's right?

When Helldivers 2 first came out, ppl accepted it was a stupid game. Shit's inconvenient, it'd blow you up, it was unfair, you'd die a lot, it was silly and dumb and just a goofy power fantasy. Unfortunately we all know what happens when Gamers touch literally fucking anything.
Muaxh03@muaxh03

Love the new "realism" change in Helldivers 2 where the directional shield blocks my own lasers. Makes total sense a sci-fi shield can’t tell friend from enemy, really immersive when I’m my own biggest counter. Thank you Arrowhead.

@retneysholocron Controversial take, but the prequel fights aren't good. They're far too flashy and choreographed for my liking, I prefer the more classic medieval style of the original and sequel trilogies.

A common criticism of the ST is the choreography. But it actually fits the timeline. These characters were trained in the wild, decades after the fall of the Jedi Order. The 7 forms fell out of practice. Even LUKE didn't learn them from Yoda, he only had books later. So Ben Solo wouldn't have been trained in them either. There is no reason that these characters should fight like Prequel Jedi, and the ST duels are more similar to the OT duels, because they take place after the OT.

It’s no surprise that Lando’s fanbase, being very young and new to F1, would vote for him. But for the official McLaren account to label him “Our greatest Grand Prix winner” is quite disrespectful to the true legends of the team: Ayrton Senna Alain Prost Fernando Alonso Lewis Hamilton Niki Lauda Emerson Fittipaldi James Hunt Gerhard Berger Mika Häkkinen David Coulthard Kimi Räikkönen

Hamilton 2021 was a lot better than this. What we saw that year was that Hamilton got wasted a lot of places by his team mistakes, reliability, poor teammate and some decision by stewards which still made no sense Without that he wins turkey, hungary, france and abu dhabi

@AlexLacl Tyre differential makes it a moot point, Verstappen gets past Bottas no matter what. Also by that measure Lewis didn't exactly resist Verstappen coming past either.

@AlexLacl Whilst I think that LH was just able to extract every scrap of performance out of that car and dominate with it, I'll always buy the conspiracy that Merc pulled GR in so that he'd finish down the order and not make it look like it was the car doing all the work.

James Gunn’s job was never to beat a 12-year-old movie. It was to wipe the slate clean of DC’s messy track record over the past decade and rebuild trust in the brand. That was the actual assignment: reset the universe, create a clear direction, and get audiences interested again. If that leads to a new Superman movie next year and people are actually excited for it, then he’s already done what he was brought in to do. Comparing everything to an old film from a completely different era of DC misses the point entirely. I genuinely don’t know what the hell is the purpose of bringing this up like it’s some ultimate benchmark until the end of time for no reason.

@HypaWave @james88982622 @edwardbrgr Absolutely, BvS is fucking dreadful. I saw both in cinema and I didn't leave Superman bored senseless wishing that the director had read more than The Dark Knight Returns for inspiration.

@JAlexander8511 @james88982622 @edwardbrgr Forget sales metrics for a moment, just judge based on quality, are you really going to say that as a cinematic experience Gunn's Superman is even in the same league as BvS? Do we just not have taste anymore?

Once again, this is why Rocketman is the GOAT of music biopics. Most of the musical scenes aren’t recreations of music videos or real-life performances, but rather fully stylized, imaginative sequences that reflect Elton John’s emotions, memories, and inner struggles. His songs are used as storytelling devices, not just checkpoints in his career. The only real recreation is the “I’m Still Standing” music video at the end and even that pays off beautifully as the film’s final note, turning into a moment of catharsis and celebration that the movie has been building up to, rather than just a surface-level recreation for nostalgia’s sake. Also, it cost just $40 million to make. It’s simple, it’s effective, you just need a clear creative vision and the willingness to tell the story in a bold, imaginative way that goes beyond the usual formulaic biopic structure.
