Walk-around of India’s first university-based research park at #IIT Madras in #Chennai… Immersive Technology & Entrepreneurship Labs (ITEL) Foundation, established in July 2024 and now keenly followed by other institutions and universities as well, comprises a successful consortium model that brings together academic institutions, industry leaders and investors to co-develop technologies and transfer them directly to the commercial sector.

Today, with substantial support through IndiaAI Mission @OfficialINDIAai by @GoI_MeitY, it is one of the largest whole-of-government approaches by MeitY and DST towards building sovereign AI where @IndiaDST seeded the project and @GoI_MeitY is helping it scale.

When the AI mission was still in formation, @IndiaDST had approved funding support for @BharatGen_Com through our National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber Physical System.

Hon’ble MoS (I/C), #MoES, @DrJitendraSingh responded in the RAJYA SABHA to an unstarred question on the PRITHVI SCHEME. Stated that: - The PRITHVI Scheme holistically integrates all five Earth system components, atmosphere, hydrosphere, geosphere, cryosphere, and biosphere, to enhance Earth System Science understanding and deliver reliable national services, including weather and ocean forecasts, disaster warnings for cyclones, floods, heatwaves, thunderstorms, lightning, tsunami alerts, and earthquake monitoring. - Significant progress has been achieved in strengthening observation networks with expansion of Doppler Weather Radars to 47 systems, enhanced Global Climate Observing System stations, addition of Automatic Weather Stations and Agro-AWS, strengthened high-wind monitoring networks, and expansion of seismic and glacio-hydrological monitoring across diverse geographies. - Ocean observation capabilities have advanced through deployment of Argo floats, surface drifters, ADCP moorings, GNSS receivers, tide stations, wave rider platforms, and strengthened monitoring systems in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands. - Major advancements in modelling systems include development of the indigenous Bharat Forecasting System (Bharat FS), high-resolution ensemble prediction models, seasonal monsoon prediction systems, machine learning frameworks for ocean forecasting, and coupled models for Arctic and Southern Ocean studies.
