They finally played me man to man and I had to hit contested 3s. I shot poorly from downtown- I think I went 2/5 but I just kept attacking and good things happened. This was an ugly game that ended 46-41. Best feeling is when the other team puts their heads down and you know the game is over. My pick and roll and free throws iced the game. I had the game-high 19 points 🤝

@jimshapiro It’s not for every player. It takes a certain mentality to buy into it. But it doesn’t make it wrong. Same with your approach. Who’s to say that you’re getting everything you can out of every player you coach? Maybe some kids need to be pushed harder to realize full potential?

It’s coaches like this that have pushed me to Coach the way I do for 33 years. The world would say he is one of the best college basketball coaches there is. Because he wins. But, he uses fear and anger to motivate his players. That’s no way to live. That’s not my kind of coach. Transactional vs Transformational. Fear vs Love. Immature vs Mature. It’s like watching a 2 year old having a temper tantrum. Tough to watch.

@SportsSturm The Vikings were 6 games over being .500 with Peterson and had just as many bad seasons as they did good ones while he was on the roster. I'm not knocking the player, I'm knocking the team building philosophy. Especially for a team as frugal as Dallas.

1) I wanted Ramsey over Zeke. 2) Pick 4 and Pick 12 are not the same thing. 3) Love is not Zeke and absolutely will not be washed by age 26.

@Marcus_Mosher I agree to a point. But it’s also true that you’re taking a much bigger risk with a younger player based solely on potential. There’s no guarantee in dealing with potential. But there is a guarantee that 24 year old X player is currently better than 20 year old Y player.

The one part about the age debate that everyone gets wrong when it comes to prospects isn’t the career length (although that’s a concern too). It’s that most older players aren’t as good as you think. They just have the benefit of being older. A 24 year old dominating isn’t the same as a 21 year old.

@WOOOOO_RICFLAIR Yea there are going to be a couple games where someone needs to create easy looks & make shots. Every single one of UConn’s players rely on the actions to get them open. Mullins has shown a little bit but not enough consistently. It gets really diff when Reed isn’t going off.

@JBay31 Man I’ve been saying it all year long we are not as good as our record indicates. We are an average team that will get bounced in the round of 32. We don’t have that guard who can takeover and I like Demary but he has no take over gene he’s a facilitator

Love UConn. Love Hurley. This team is a top 10 team in the NCAA, but I don’t think they have the horses to win it all. March is about Guard play. There’s no one on this team that anyone fears getting to the rim. The formula is out there. UConn relies way too much on sets.

I’m sorry, but in what world is Osa going to bring back a 2nd? He’s an above avg DT that doesn’t really fit the scheme. You can’t pay a back up DT $20M a year. Take the 3rd and keep it moving.

Drafting a LB at 12 & immediately paying him top of the market $? Or maybe using those picks on an edge & DB? It’s not even close.

@JBay31 @CrwnGlobalMedia Styles wasn’t making it to them at 12 especially after his performance at the combine. CJ has always been more of an attainable target. LB has always been the bigger focus not corner. They feel comfortable with who they have. Not saying they’re right but that’s how it is.

They might know more about the player than you do. It’s the disadvantage we have doing this job.
