The amount of travel and expenses just for eff'n softball-regular working people can't even dream of affording it! Track too! Same damn thing

💯. Paid $1600 in Fees for my sons travel soccer last season. Had a pizza party near the end of the season…guess who picked up the tab. The parents. 25 bucks a head…X’s 22 kids. Where the fuck did that $1600 go? Team busses to tournaments? Nope. Had to drive as far as three states away for tournaments. That gas, food and hotel rooms out of parents pockets as well. MLS Next heavily primarily out of these travel teams. So a single mom or dad on 40k a year sure as fuck isn’t going to be able to afford it monetarily nor time wise. The system, is, absolutely fucking broken.

For YEARS people in the US soccer media killed me for saying this. Now their mainstream is saying it. One paid a terrible price for speaking the truth, but the truth is finally out.
