I'm surprised that there are so many people that are surprised that this is the outcome. I think that there is a misunderstanding that a lot of people have of Tennessee self defense law. If you instigate a conflict and you use deadly force, it is going to seriously damage if not destroy your self defense claim. Another thing to consider is proportionality of response. If you go around ragebaiting for content and you finally get the physical response you knew was likely, and the person is not presenting an immediate threat of death or serious bodily harm, then that will also bode ill for your self defense claim. Here's the thing: there were cops there since it was outside of a courthouse. If he responded proportionally, the dude who attacked him would probably get slapped with aggravated assault/battery. Because he escalated to the level of lethal force, and his previous behavior being a factor, prosecution is going to argue that he instigated the confrontation and knew what would happen (his previous posts and VODs will be used as evidence) and illegitimately used lethal force.
