Kenya's determination to protect the Elephant species receives support in the ongoing Convention on International Trade of Endangered Species (CITES), Conference of Parties in Geneva, Switzeland.

Kenya was today declared the World’s leading Safari Destination, during the 26th World Travel Awards ceremony held in Muscat, Oman. Receiving the award with me is Sheikh Mohammed Dor, Kenya’s Ambassador to Oman.

Congratulations to Mr Hillary Mutyambai having been appointed by H.E President Uhuru Kenyatta as the third Inspector General of @NPSOfficial_KE. I pray that God will grant him good health,strength & wisdom to discharge the responsibilities of the office of the Inspector General.

President Uhuru Kenyatta today witnessed the swearing-in of Tourism CAS Joseph Boinnet at State House. President Kenyatta lauded the outgoing Inspector General of Police for serving his term with diligence as well as for taking the National Police Service to a higher level.

Mr Hillary Nzioki Mutyambai has this morning been sworn in as kenya’s third Inspector General of Police at the Supreme Court of Kenya following his appointment by HE President Uhuru Kenyatta and successful vetting by the Senate and the National Assembly of Kenya. #ANewDawn

Inspector General of Police .@JBoinnet today held a meeting with directors of various directorates and other senior officers (civilian and uniformed) at the National Police Service Headquarters-Jogoo House. 1/2

Early today, the IG @JBoinnet paid a courstesy call @DCI_Kenya Headquarters where he met & spoke at length with the Director & other senior officers-including the support staff. The officers thanked him for his Transformative Leadership & wished him well in his next assignment.

Earlier today, the DIG APS among other @APSKenya Commanders hosted the outgoing IG @JBoinnet at the APS HQS for a farewell breakfast.

The National Police Service cares for all its officers and we strive to ensure that officers injured while on duty receive the required medical attention. 2/2

I have this afternoon visited Police Officers recuperating at the Nairobi West Hospital after sustaining various injuries while in the line of duty. Four of the officers I visited were injured in an IED attack in Garissa, while on routine patrol. 1/2

We also pledged to jointly explore ways of enhancing accountability, as well as improving the working conditions for Police officers. 2/2

The IPOA Board led by the Chairperson Mrs. Anne Makori visited the NPS headquarters today. We discussed ways of enhancing good relations between the Service and the Authority that is aimed at improving the quality of policing services provided to the public. 1/2

Dr Matiang’i was accompanied by CS Joe Mucheru, IPOA Chair Anne Makori, NPSC CEO Mr. Joseph Onyango, among other senior Police Officers and commanders. 2/2

Interior CS Dr. Fred Matiang'i today officially opened the Regional Police Commanders Strategic Leadership Development Course for recently appointed regional Police Commanders at the NPS Senior Staff College-Loresho. 1/2

Interior CS Dr. Fred Matiang’i, CS Mucheru & I today joined the family, friends, relatives & NPS fraternity in bidding farewell to our fallen hero PC.Japhet Nuru who lost his life dealing with the terrorists who attacked Dusit Hotel Complex in which we rescued over 700 civilians.

As a Service, we remain focused and resolute in discharging our mandate in an efficient and effective manner for the benefit of all Kenyans.

We view today's visit by His Excellency to the DCI headquarters as further demonstration of the government’s commitment to continue supporting NPS to achieve its mandate of providing the public safety and security of all Kenyans.

I thank H.E. the President for the immense support that the government has continued to extend to the National Police Service.
