Officers Commanding Stations (OCS) within Nairobi convened at the National Police Leadership Academy in Ngong to give their views on the establishment of the Nairobi Metropolitan Police Unit. One message stood out clearly that policing in the city will be most effective when communities, through their estates and neighbourhoods, have a stronger sense of ownership over the police stations that serve them. This means empowering the County government @047County, residents’ associations @KARA_OfficialKE and other local stakeholders to play a greater role in supporting policing infrastructure, personnel and service delivery.

Today, the Deputy Inspector General of the Kenya Police Service, Eliud Lagat, officially commissioned the ultra-modern, newly built Moi's Bridge Police Station and Soy Sub-County Offices. ​This state-of-the-art facility replaces the old station and is fully equipped to meet the demands of modern, professional policing. To immediately boost operational efficiency and officer mobility, the DIG also gave the station a brand-new Toyota Land Cruiser, ensuring rapid response capabilities to maintain robust security across the area. Built by the National Government, this intervention is a direct win for local farmers and traders at the strategic border of Uasin Gishu and Trans Nzoia, offering a secure environment to continue supplying Kenya with maize and agricultural produce. ​Under the theme "Enhancing Security Through Partnership, Professionalism and Service," this project stands as a tribute to the shared vision of our leaders, community stakeholders, and the officers who serve.
