@CPyles8 I can't think of any wrestler who defaulted out of conference and did well at nationals but can think of several who bombed at nationals because they looked injured.

For any wrestler considering not wrestling in conferences, there’s an added deterrent against it this year. The wrestler is required to wrestle in two matches at their conference tournament to be eligible for at large bid. So instead of one :01 injury def, you’d need two, and they’d both be on your record. We’ve seen this happen a few times over the years, so this is a pretty notable change.
