Yom HaZikaron laShoah v’ laGevurah (יום הזיכרון לשואה ולגבורה) falls on the 27th of Nisan (April 13 this year). Established by the Knesset in 1959, it honors the millions lost in the Holocaust and acts of heroism. We light candles, share stories, and stand against hatred.🕯️

AJC welcomes the first stage of the agreement that provides for the release of 33 of the remaining hostages brutally abducted from Israel during Hamas’ attack on October 7, 2023. While we await the final announcement from the Israeli government, we are grateful to the Biden Administration, the incoming Trump Administration, and other global partners for working together to secure the first stage of the agreement. We cannot wait to see the first hostages come home to their families, but the critical work to free every hostage – regardless of age, gender, or nationality – must continue. After 467 days, the first stage of an agreement has been reached to release 33 of the hostages brutally abducted from Israel during Hamas' attack on October 7, 2023. We remain hopeful for the release of the remaining 65 hostages in the months ahead. Finally, they are coming home!

We hope that this ceasefire agreement will be fully implemented, that the war can soon be brought fully to an end, and that responsible leaders on all sides can seriously pursue the path of diplomacy and compromise to achieve a lasting peace. (5/5)
