The targeting of my friend @RepMoskowitz is a chilling indication of the mix of antisemitism and political violence in America.
When elected officials, synagogues, and everyday Jewish spaces are placed on a target list, it reflects a deep, foundational issue that must be confronted with urgency at all levels.
I am grateful to law enforcement for preventing what could have been a devastating attack. But security measures alone will not stop antisemitism.
AJC is sounding the alarm: leaders at every level must act decisively to counter antisemitism before more lives are put at risk.

Prosecutors in the UK have charged two men with spying for Iran and conducting surveillance of individuals and locations in London tied to the Jewish community.
British lawmakers have long warned of the threats posed by the Iranian regime, and authorities have uncovered multiple plots and made arrests in recent years.
This is yet another stark reminder that Iran’s malign activity, along with that of its terror proxies, extends far beyond the Middle East—targeting Jewish communities, undermining European security, and threatening global stability.

@TheIHRA Thank the San Diego mayor and @SDCityCouncil for adopting the IHRA definition:

The San Diego City Council has officially adopted the @theIHRA Working Definition of Antisemitism, an important step in strengthening efforts to recognize and respond to antisemitism.
“We have identified the problem. Now we need to work to effectively use that definition to improve how we respond to instances of antisemitism,” said AJC San Diego Regional Director Sara Brown.
This is more than a symbolic action. The IHRA definition is a critical tool for education, training, and accountability. We commend San Diego’s leadership, including Mayor @ToddGloria and Councilmember @StephenWhitburn, and urge more cities across the country to take this meaningful step in confronting antisemitism and protecting Jewish communities.

When former Obama administration official Ben Rhodes told Democrats who opposed the War Powers Resolution on Iran to get out of the party, he imposed a political litmus test.
Writing in @TheHill, @AJCCEO Ted Deutch argues that disagreement isn’t a defect in American politics. It’s the very thing that keeps our democracy strong.

Anwar Gargash, senior advisor to the president of the UAE, has noted that by targeting Gulf states, the Iranian regime is spurring rethinking about Israel among Arab nations, while exposing itself as the primary source of regional instability.
Tehran‘s actions are reshaping the region in ways that have the potential to ultimately strengthen cooperation among those committed to security and prosperity.

“‘Night’ is not a political narrative. It is an explicitly stark literary account of the Holocaust, and it should be taught as such.”
In @WJWeek, AJC Director of K-12, Education Programs and Resources Aaron Bregman and Director of Education Programs and Services at @JCRCgw Sara Winkelman examine the growing challenges of teaching Holocaust literature in today’s increasingly polarized classrooms.
Drawing on their work with educators in Montgomery County Public Schools, they stress the importance of preserving historical clarity when teaching “Night” by Elie Wiesel.

We welcome the passage of the Holocaust Expropriated Art Recovery Act, the latest progress in the long-overdue journey towards returning art looted by the Nazis to the rightful heirs of Jewish families.
We commend the growing efforts by governments, institutions, and advocates to ensure that stolen works are returned and that historical wrongs are addressed with the seriousness they deserve.
We urge President Trump to sign this bill into law as soon as possible.

We thank @SenatorLankford and @SenatorSlotkin for raising the importance of the Nonprofit Security Grant Program (NSGP) during today’s Department of Homeland Security nominations hearing.
The need has never been more pressing: AJC’s State of Antisemitism in America 2025 Report found that 28% of American Jews report at least one Jewish institution they are affiliated with has been the target of antisemitic incidents in the last five years.
At a time of rising threats against Jewish institutions and other at-risk communities, robust funding for NSGP is essential to ensure that vulnerable communities have the resources they need to stay safe.

“Designations alone are insufficient. Urgent action is necessary.”
In @JewishChron, AJC Senior Vice President for Policy and Political Affairs @FishmanJulie argues that as the Iranian regime becomes increasingly aggressive, recent steps by Europe, including the designation of the IRGC, are important, but they are not enough.
We urgently need decisive and coordinated transatlantic leadership to confront and contain the regime's growing threat to regional and global stability.

34 years ago, a terrorist bombing destroyed Israel’s embassy in Buenos Aires, killing 29 people and injuring hundreds in an attack carried out by Hezbollah, an Iran-backed terror group.
In the face of unimaginable devastation, Marine Corps Captain B.G. Willison (Ret.) ran toward the rubble to rescue survivors.
For his extraordinary bravery and selflessness, AJC honored him with the Moral Courage Award at Global Forum in 2017.
His story is a powerful reminder that even in the darkest moments, individual courage can affirm our shared humanity and the responsibility to never forget.

We welcome Albania’s decision to declare Iran a state sponsor of terror and to hold the Iranian regime accountable for its actions.
We deeply value Albania’s friendship, its support for Israel and the Jewish people, and its strong commitment to global peace and security.
We urge other countries to follow suit.

Joe Kent testified before the Senate one year ago that Iran and its terror proxies threatened U.S. servicemembers in the Middle East. He said it would be an honor to return to the fight against terrorism, and he pledged to lead with integrity and accountability. The virulent anti-Semitism of his resignation letter makes it clear that Mr. Kent is incapable of upholding these pledges, and those who mistake its baseless and incendiary conspiracies for brave truth-telling are only fooling themselves. Isolationists and anti-Semites have no place in either party, and certainly do not deserve places of trust in our government.

Mayor Mamdani’s repeated use of the “genocide” accusation against Israel is not just wrong - it’s dangerous. It distorts reality and fuels antisemitism at a moment when Jews are already under threat.
Leaders who claim to stand for human rights should not use rhetoric that puts Jewish communities at risk.

Since October 7, 2023, AJC has stood alongside hostage families advocating for the release of their loved ones, amplifying their voices, and pushing for action.
We worked with more than 50 hostages families, including Rachel Goldberg-Polin, and held over 600 meetings and press events with government officials and other leaders to keep the urgency of bringing the hostages home at the forefront.
The courage of these families drives this work and we remain committed to ensuring their voices are heard.

Rachel Goldberg-Polin has endured a pain no parent should ever face. Her only son, Hersh Goldberg-Polin, was kidnapped, tortured, and murdered by Hamas terrorists.
Since his kidnapping, and even after his tragic death, she has fought tirelessly for the return of every hostage held in Gaza.
Named one of @USATODAY’s 2026 Women of the Year, she has become a symbol of extraordinary strength and unwavering advocacy.
Rachel’s courage is a testament to a mother’s love and a powerful reminder of resilience and humanity, even in the face of unimaginable loss and cruelty.

It is deeply disturbing that U.S. National Counterterrorism Center Director Joe Kent invoked antisemitic tropes in his resignation letter, falsely blaming “Israel and its powerful American lobby” for the ongoing war with Iran.
Such claims echo long-standing conspiratorial narratives about Jewish power and influence that have fueled hatred, discrimination, and violence for generations and should never be amplified by government leaders.
