@AdsoOfBelk Is trading still viable in that game? I remember doing a trading and capitalist run buying buildings and it was sick.

Bannerlord is very true to real history in that the primary way that people rose to independent warlord status in late antiquity was winning several (abundantly held) martial tournaments which gave as a prize a piece of equipment that could be sold for 10000 years peasant salary

@KennethFitzsi15 @bildredax @fitzfromdublin Not the landmass though, burial plots are very limited. I’ve had family over there who have had to repay for ancestor’s plots or have them exhumed. Also I think it’s something to do with autopsies. IIRC UK autopsy all bodies, while Ireland only if foul play suspected

The “euros don’t recover or bury bodies” tweet is funny in part because one of the biggest differences between Ireland and the UK is we’re a funerary culture and they’re not. I only mention it because it shows there isn’t a single European cultural attitude around anything so

@bildredax @fitzfromdublin How about running the system in such a way that you're only waiting longer than a fortnight in genuinely exceptional cases, like is done in NI and RoI?

@embracetruth26 @ZoomerHistorian He is the King of the United Kingdom. He has the influence to shape the country as he sees fit, if he really wanted to. All the Windsors are cowards and traitors.

@Two_Batz @HenryWestGaming There are plenty of them in Westmeath. Not sure why you’re making a joke. The Midlands was heavily planted with Englishmen, I worked with a Westmeath man who was a Protestant by virtue of his English ancestry. Many, many English surnames found from Westmeath down to south Laois

@rising_alba More than just political, but culturally everything has been shit for our lifetimes too. For those of us born after the 90s we don’t have a golden age to look back on, no nostalgia for any period, just nothing but shit. I think going forward this will have big consequences

As a youngish White man in a western nation I've never heard a politician in power propose anything that will directly benefit me. Not once in my entire life. Most people don't know what that feels like.

@Cillian03482091 @Trickstersworld FF are worse. At least with the loonies you know what you’re dealing with. FF wear suits but implement the same policies as the loonies.

@rinagaelriochta They supported and cheered on Ishmael Akinade, a convicted African rapist. The club should be a criminal organisation and all its members imprisoned.

@OdohertyI64991 Did the IRA give out free prescription medications or operate state of the art secret hospitals? Must have missed that bit.

@Xander_Wood @saintspyridon1 @Will_Tanner_1 When I say continental I mean North America, I already said that. In terms of quality of life, which I also clearly stated, enslavement and extreme poverty can in fact be equal; it is not absurd to think so. Who had a worse QOL: a plantation owner’s house slave

This grievance-motivated anti-British sentiment reeks of Third Worldism in all its reeking spite and envy, which is why the IRA has sided with every Third Worldist terror group, such as the ANC, that it could

@Xander_Wood @saintspyridon1 @Will_Tanner_1 Sugar plantations in the Caribbean were incredibly awful yes, but I’m referring to continental slaves in the 17th and 18th century, the bulk of the empire at the time

@Xander_Wood @saintspyridon1 @Will_Tanner_1 “Faith” still meant you couldn’t inherit land or have representation. Like the slaves, language and culture were eroded. Irish language was forbidden in official use and names were later forcibly anglicised.

@Xander_Wood @saintspyridon1 @Will_Tanner_1 Look it up, please. It’s not controversial at all to say that American slaves had it better than Irish in Ireland in the 1600s; all of their basic needs had to be met.

@JC_1901 @saintspyridon1 @Will_Tanner_1 The reason so mamy slaves were taken from Africa is because so mamy of them died on the journey, or died after arrival due to poor living and working conditions. The idea that the British wanted to exterminate the Irish, or that Irish peasants had harder lives than African slaves

@byzacash @connor_jk09 With the current way the UK is, a Muslim king wouldn’t be too surprising. Charles himself could be one, he seems awfully fond of them.
