Authors and parents of students affected by the Republican book ban have joined the federal lawsuit which would allow the books back on shelves if successful. The suit correctly argues that the GOP campaign to ban books related to racism and LGBTQ themes is a blatant violation of the First Amendment. The fascist efforts have been supported and signed into law by MAGA Gov. Ron DeSantis. The lawsuit states that "the removals have disproportionately targeted books by or about people of color and/or LGBTQ people, and have prescribed an orthodoxy of opinion that violates the First and Fourteenth Amendments."
