The price of lumber is outrageous now.
Back in 2020 I was getting a 4x8 sheet of 1/2 plywood for around $12/sheet.
Went to Lowe’s today & it’s now $46.
How are people affording to build homes, or remodel their existing homes?
I’m not sure how this is sustainable.
@OwenShroyer1776 Wait until he finds out after paying 30 years for a house at 3x the price Medicaid won't cover all his medical bills when he gets old and they will put a lean on the house and auction it when he dies to pay the hospital the overly unrealistic charges.
"I'm done donating my life!"
Sums it up quite well.
This is the status for a majority of America. DC, the elite political & media class, have never been more removed or detached from this reality & these people.
No matter what they SAY, this will still be people's reality.
@buddie_holly@FuhgedNews Your eyes didn't catch it. He gave her a 20. He cancelled the order. She gave him a 20 back. He quickly swapped it for a $1 bill and pretended she gave him a $1 bill back. Pay attention and you will see the swap in the car.
@dnomad77@skumWgmi How about health insurance? That's like $500/mo these days.. Paper towels, toilet paper, shampoo, soap, cleaning supplies... Car maintenance (oil changes, yearly state stickers, etc.)... Hair cuts... Clothing... Gas... Coffee stuff.. Going to restaurants? There's to much to name.
The "dream job" salary is $95,000.
After taxes, that's $5,800/month.
Rent for a 1BR in a major city: $2,400
Car payment+ insurance: $650.
Student loans: $400.
Groceries + utilities: $600.
That's $740 left.
For everything else. For the whole month. This is what "making it" looks like now.
@wakeupusa Because MAGA doesn't like Trump anymore. He betrayed us all. Everyone I know that loved Trump hates him now they all say he sold out to Israel.
🚨 SNEAKER RESALE MARKET JUST CRASHED OVERNIGHT — AND NO ONE CAN EXPLAIN IT
A sneaker store owner says the whole scene “died in one night.” The numbers are brutal:• Shoes that were flipping for $500–$600 won’t even move at $300
• Jordan 1s sitting dead at $90
• Dunks and GRs collecting dust on the shelves
• Premium heat priced below retail still isn’t selling
• Yeezys — once the safest resale play on earth — are tanking everywhere He straight-up asks:
“Why are sneakers literally dying right now?”Wildest part? Almost nobody is buying OR selling. The entire resale ecosystem is completely frozen.
So what actually killed it — the economy, the hype finally dying, or is the whole resale game collapsing for good?
