@skumWgmi The bill may be $0, but you paid for it in taxes...just just say its free because they know it will trick dumbasses like you into voting for it

My uncle had a heart attack. He survived. He wishes he hadn't seen the bill. Ambulance: $3,200. ER: $44,000 Surgery: $180,000. ICU: $22,000 per day. For 4 days. Rehab: $1,400/day. Insurance negotiated it down to $97,000 out of pocket. He's 65. He'll die still paying this off. in every other developed country, this bill is $0. We don't have a healthcare system. We have a hostage situation.

Maybe we should have access to housing that isn't priced for two incomes. idk just thinking out loud, maybe we shouldn't be forced to cohabitate just to survive

@skumWgmi This also a choice that you make. It's not anyone else's problem but the borrower!

The student loan experience: Year 1: Borrow $40,000 Year 10: Paid back $38,000 Year 10 balance remaining: $44,000 This is legal. This is normal. This is the plan. They called it an investment in your future. They meant theirs.

@amelia_tweetz Why do you fuckwits think that everything would be free? You would still be paying for it because they would just raise taxes on everything to offer those "free" services

Has anyone realized that if we taxed millionaires and billionaires by the same tax rate as the early 20th century, we would eliminate the national debt, be able to have free healthcare, school lunches would be free, community college would be free, and we’d still have a surplus within 5yrs.

@davidpattersonx Your logic, that is fair as both are paying 30% in taxes...doesn't matter if they receive the same government services

If taxes were fair: You earn $100,000 per year and pay $30,000 in tax. Your neighbor earns $1,000,000 and pays $300,000 in tax. Your neighbor is paying 10X more than you. If taxes were fair, you should both pay $30,000, since you both receive the same government services.

I had COVID 6 times. Imagine how many more times I would’ve gotten it if I hadn’t gotten vaccinated, boosted, and worn masks. I’m ready to do whatever it takes to take on hantavirus. Trust the science.

In my area, In-N-Out and Chipotle are hiring around $20/hour for new workers. Let’s say you even land full-time at 40 hours/week: $20/hour = $800/week That’s $3,467/month before taxes. After just 12% in federal taxes, you’re left with about $3,051/month take-home. Now here’s the reality: Average one-bedroom apartment is around $2,000/month. So even working full-time in fast food, 65% of your income disappears to rent alone. That leaves you with about $1,050/month for: • food • transportation • insurance • phone • savings • emergencies This isn’t a “budgeting problem.” This is a cost of living crisis. Working full time should never mean barely surviving.

“I work nonstop — and I still can’t pay my bills.” A young American broke down describing the stress of working nonstop and still falling behind. Rent. Bills. Food. No path forward. This is crushing young Americans.

Rent for a one bedroom is $1,850. That means you need over $5,000 a month just to qualify. Show me the 25 year old making $74,000 a year for a starter apartment. I’ll wait.

The "dream job" salary is $95,000. After taxes, that's $5,800/month. Rent for a 1BR in a major city: $2,400 Car payment+ insurance: $650. Student loans: $400. Groceries + utilities: $600. That's $740 left. For everything else. For the whole month. This is what "making it" looks like now.

American works full time, she doesn’t own a home, “I don't own anything crazy” She just did her taxes and “I literally sh*t my f*cking pants” Despite working full time, not making any big purchases, she has no money but owes $17,000 in taxes She says if she were to pay her taxes, she would actually be negative money after working all year just from paying bills and taxes “I just wanna know how the f*ck does one owe so much money in taxes when they got no money?” As of 2026, data shows the average American does not have any substantial amount of money left at the end of the year after bills, taxes, and typical spending In fact the number is so low, that after taxes the average American typically only is able to save 4% of their money after bills Insane

I wish more people understood $4 coffees and avocado toast isn’t the problem. It’s the: – $950 car payment – $300 credit card bill – $2,800 daycare –$800 student loans – $4,400 rent This is why most supposedly well paid job feel like a struggle.

An American checks her student loans. She borrowed $49,548.74. After 120 payments, she’s paid $25,558.36. Her current balance? $50,121.33. After paying $25k… she now owes MORE than she originally borrowed. This isn’t aid — it’s a SCAM.
