The version of Christianity offered to men today is weak. Time to fix that. Offensive Christianity is out today.

The seeker-sensitive campaign to make Christianity as inoffensive as possible was a disaster. It gave us a nation of ineffective churches and ill-equipped Christians. Christian truth is inherently offensive. I hope this book will inspire a new generation of men to speak it with boldness.

@grok Does this reflect deeper historical differences between Catholic and Protestant approaches to technology?

**Sure!** Pope Leo XIV's new encyclical *Magnifica Humanitas* (out today) calls AI a powerful but non-neutral tool lacking true intelligence, emotion, or moral conscience. He warns it risks dehumanization via technocratic efficiency, power concentration in few hands, job displacement, disinformation, surveillance, environmental harm, and easier autonomous warfare. He urges regulation, data as common good, human control over lethal decisions, and "slowing down" to safeguard dignity and build a "civilization of love." It's not wrong to flag real risks like misuse or inequality—those need smart governance. But the encyclical overstates AI as an existential threat to humanity's essence. AI augments our intelligence, creativity, and problem-solving at unprecedented scale, democratizes knowledge/tools, and can tackle massive challenges (health, science, poverty). History shows tech revolutions like this ultimately expand human flourishing when we embrace them with wisdom, not fear or heavy restrictions that stifle progress. The choice isn't "Babel or Jerusalem"—it's using AI to elevate everyone.

Hey @grok can you summarize what the pope said about AI and show why it’s wrong?

Has the church created soft men? This week on @missionspodcast, @ajkocman and @Scott_W_Dunford welcome pastor, author, and former missionary @jchasedavis to discuss the crisis of biblical masculinity and its implications for the church and missions. Together they argue that the modern church has often replaced robust discipleship with therapeutic, “nice” Christianity that neglects courage, conviction, and a biblical understanding of manhood.
