So so delighted @OracleResearch and @OracleCloud could support and contribute to @AdrianMulholla1 and @sofiaol43489629 non-equilibrium aspects of this amazing research with such a gifted team - #COVIDisAirborne wear a mask 😷

Thanks to a team led by Rommie Amaro at @UCSanDiego, scientists have the first look at an aerosolized SARS-CoV-2 particle. The team modeled the particle on @ORNL’s Summit #supercomputer, comprising a billion atoms. #SC21 #COVIDisAirborne

May the Fourth be with you! #StarWarsDay
But specially with our new lab member Kevin Guttenplan who 3D printed this #MillenniumFalcon tube rack for me

@pycharm Any idea why on MacOS, after changing focus from PyCharm and back to it, I have to change tabs before the editor will let me interact with a pane?

Working towards computing kinetics for large biomolecules with independent Markov decomposition. @tmhmpl championed this work, big shoutout to the team Mauricio del Razo, @CTLeeRes @RommieAmaro @biobryn.
So happy to have a paper with you Rommie!

@tiwarylab @laura_mccaslin @olexandr @FergLab @matteoslvlgl @CecClementi @FrankNoeBerlin @OmarValsson @UCL_MMEgroup @Herr_Flow @CoppermanJeremy Yes! My first conference experience was APS 2017 - I remember traveling with my peers, celebrating a good talk and getting to know our faculty+advisors in some New Orleans locale in the evenings.
Finished my talk today - “guess I’ll put my tshirt back on & finish my sandwich”
English

Unpopular (?) opinion: #apsmarch #APS2021 Q&A sessions are joke! Lots of very short ~10min talks are sandwiched with 2min Q&A time. Everyone are running late, no meaningful discussion, chat is dead too... #AcademicTwitter #virtualconference

@Coen_Noah @AcademicChatter LOVE PyCharm
Used to be firmly and stubbornly in the “a text editor does everything I need” camp.
Used Jupyter heavily for a few years, and still do, but it has its limitations.
Used VS Code for a while, but PyCharm blows it out of the water IMO. Never been more productive

What IDE do you use for Python? #LinguisticsTwitter #AcademicChatter
It seems like there are a billion options. Thanks in advance!

Would love for anyone interested to come check out my poster at BPS!

@AcademicChatter I went to grad school because my parents are going on the same day and they have a good time at the internet
English

Let's play a game!
Type: "I went to grad school because..." and let your predictive text finish it out.
I need a good giggle today. Let's gooooooo.

@FlipperPA @AlSweigart Isn't the saying meant to apply when the power is concentrated in just a few hands, rather than thousands?

@GradSkoolStrugs Grew up on a farm in a small town, quit it for academia -- to each their own, good luck!

@JuliaLanguage Just started exploring reimplementing some of the “slow” parts of my Python analysis code in Julia. Planning on using PyJulia to call from within my normal Python workflow - naive translation of the algorithm from Python to Julia was good for a 40x speedup!

If you could use #JuliaLang to build anything in 2021, what would it be? Feel free to put interesting ideas in the replies below 👇 #OpenSource
