Very happy to see Aron Kerschbaumer's first PhD work get published! What started as a short test project for him ended up as a nice PRL paper. You can read more about it in this summary by ISTA.

A Sky Full of (Quantum) Scars: A bizarre quantum phenomenon that goes against the universe’s drive for increased chaos might not be all too exotic after all. Read more: ista.ac.at/en/news/a-sky-… Now published in @PhysRevLett #QuantumScars #QuantumManyBodyScars #QuantumTheory

With Sophie, we took advantage of the nice weather this Saturday to climb the Glocknergrat in Mödling. It took us a bit of time, but the view at the top was worth it!

In our work, we show that r=1 is not the exception but rather the norm. For all r, we find 3 distinct families of non-thermalizing states with the same phenomenology. The key to unlocking them? A small amount of local entanglement to avoid frustration during the dynamics.

Very happy to share our latest paper with my collaborators at @theoryleeds and at the @fzj_jsc. We used @dwavequantum hardware to perform a large-scale study of the role of bubbles and their interactions in false vacuum decay.
Quantum Many-Body Physics @ Leeds@theoryleeds

Our Universe may be trapped in a metastable false vacuum state. But how do bubbles of true vacuum emerge, move and interact with each other? We explored this on a @dwavequantum machine: arxiv.org/abs/2406.14718 Thanks to @LeverhulmeTrust @JDesaules and colleagues at JSC

The latest version of our work is now published in Science Advances doi.org/10.1126/sciadv…. Be sure to check it out, as it contains new experimental results where we control oscillations due to scarring using different disorder realisations.
Quantum Many-Body Physics @ Leeds@theoryleeds

In our upcoming @ScienceAdvances paper arxiv.org/abs/2312.10216 we used a superconducting quantum processor to realise a type of rainbow scar states whose entanglement can be tuned by disorder at infinite temperature. Thanks to @LeverhulmeTrust and @KITP_UCSB for support.
