We’re proud to announce that D-Wave has been selected to receive a $1.57 million grant through the U.S. National Science Foundation's National Quantum Virtual Laboratory (NQVL) program as a key industry partner in the ERASE quantum project. Led by @Yale University, the project brings together researchers from leading academic institutions and industry to advance dual-rail gate-model quantum computing hardware, software, error correction, and applications. D-Wave will provide ERASE researchers with access to our superconducting dual-rail gate-model quantum computing technology, technical expertise, and development resources to help accelerate innovation across the quantum computing stack. The award advances ERASE into the second phase of the three-phase NQVL program, underscoring @NSF's continued support for the project's approach to scalable, fault-tolerant quantum computing. The message was clear: quantum is a strategic technology for the U.S., and continued investment, commercialization, and public-private collaboration will be critical to maintaining momentum. We appreciate the Administration’s leadership in convening government and industry to discuss strengthening the U.S. quantum ecosystem. Quantum computing is already beginning to show its potential to help accelerate drug discovery, design next-generation materials, and address some of the public sector’s most complex challenges. We're also encouraged by the Administration’s recent executive order calling for a dedicated quantum application development program. This reflects a growing recognition of quantum’s near-term impact across both modalities of quantum computing - annealing and gate-model quantum computing.
