I wish someone had told me this as a teenager. It wasn’t until I was older that this became a part of my life. Nobody cares about what you want, more than you. The rest tell you lies and it hinders you. Rent is paid through the grind. Keep grinding.
The Winning Difference@thewinningdiff1

"Success isn't owned. It's leased, and rent is due every day. Every single day someone's coming for your greatness. So if you're not constantly improving your game, somebody else is." - @JJWatt

This is what separates good from great. Mindset matters more than most athletes will ever realize. Athletes have to make adjustments in order to be successful in any sport. Lack of adjustments leads to lack of success.
Jermaine Curtis@JermaineCurtis

I worked with a D1 player and a D3 player this morning. On paper... They looked almost identical. 6'4 200 pounds... Both had elite bat speed. Both had power. Both were physically gifted. But there was one difference. Every time the D3 player mishit a ball... He complained. He got frustrated. He pouted. Then he'd struggle for the next 3 or 4 swings. Pop-up. Ground ball. Weak contact. The D1 player? He'd mishit one. Make an adjustment ...And move on. No emotion. No drama. Just the next pitch. It reminded me of something I learned playing professional baseball... Sometimes the biggest difference between two players isn't their talent. It's the conversation they're having with themselves in their head after they fail. Your bat speed matters. Your swing matters. But the operating system between your ears matters just as much. The best hitters I've been around don't waste energy explaining why they failed. They spend their energy figuring out what to do on the next pitch. - Jermaine Curtis P.S. The next time you mishit a ball, don't ask, "What's wrong with me?" Ask, "What's my adjustment?" P.P.S. - If you enjoyed this, and thought it was helpful, share it. (It tells me you want more content like this)

"It's really hard to win a game 1-0, but you're thinking: If she (Jordy Frahm) pulls this off, and throws a no-hitter, and she hits the home run on the first at bat and she just was named national player of the year..." "That would be statue time there... or put her face on a mountain, like Mount Rushmore." Early Break reacts to Nebraska softball's 3-1 loss in the WCWS at the hands of the national championship defending Texas Longhorns. @937JakeSorensen | @steven_sipple | @Coach_BillBusch

@jen_schro @arasehajime What is a most valuable player? Is it the most impressive stat? Nebraska beat UCLA. Won the conference going 3-1 against UCLA. The player that led that was Frahm as a valuable player on the mound and hitting. Hitting homeruns is great but champions lead teams to championships.

I’m not saying I disagree, BUT, I think it’s crazy that: Megan Grant, who broke a single-season homerun record that’s stood the test of time - while being walked 25% of her at bats - didn’t receive a POY award by any of the Big 3 POY pubs. 40 homeruns (so far) & NCAA-leading 74 walks - so, without a doubt one of the most FEARED hitters in the game … Imagine Lauren Chamberlain or Stacey Nuveman not being POY’s… (I can’t). How cool is it how much our game (& the talent in it), has grown.

Opportunity doesn’t knock when you feel ready. It shows up when it’s time. Preparation is what separates those who capitalize from those who complain. If you’re not preparing, you’re choosing to miss it. Be ready before your name is called.

The average high school head football coach stipend is around $7,000. Fluctuating heavily For that, they’re expected to coach year-round, run a program, mentor kids, manage parents, recruit their own halls, fundraise, break down film, coordinate staffs, and be available almost 24/7. Football coaches are grossly underpaid for what we ask of them.
