Is Torrey Pines overrated? 15 years ago, Torrey Pines was beloved. A muni PGA Tour course and home of Tiger’s glorious US Open on one leg. But as golf course architecture ideas spread on social media, so did the hate on Torrey. Is it justified? My take on Torrey Pines: It’s an awesome setting for golf. The weather is amazing. The views are excellent. The fact that it’s public means so much, anybody can show up and play this major test. But the golf course itself? It’s pretty much just okay. You won’t remember most holes and you won’t be asked to think. You will try to keep the ball out of the deep rough and then you will hit it again. The incredible land isn’t used to its potential. The green complexes won’t spark any joy and your creative mind won’t be activated. It’s still golf at a great place and I’ll always have fun there. Golf is awesome. And public major golf is rare, Torrey Pines gives us that. Torrey currently ranks #40 on the Golf Digest top 100 public. Taking a quick glance, I’d put it quite a bit lower. (If trying to judge the golf course alone, not the major history.) Should you play it? If you love golf history, then yes. I am glad I’ve played it and will play it again

@Top100Rick I’m going to have to disagree. We don’t need Chicago dogs or chili cheese dogs at the turn. A simple, normal sized all beef dog with steamed bun and mustard is never too heavy.

So Uncrustables have taken over halfway houses across the country as the golf snack of choice. Hot dogs are fading away. But this is next level. Deep fried Uncrustables. And only $2. Who is trying this? I gotta try it once.

@WamegoCoachMac @klmiller33 I’ve loved watching Gentry grow in the game. She’s got such a bright future. Most importantly I love seeing this group becoming great friends and loving the game together, I think that more than anything fueled this run. Addy is blessed to have G as a friend.

Dougie becomes a 4x Individual State Champion 🤯! Incredible feat! But it’s her work ethic and leadership that makes her truly special. Instead of focusing on herself she pours into her teammates. Gentry was able to learn from one of the best! Thank you Dougie! Legacy left!

7-year-old Korbin Tinkel could usually be seen spending his summer golfing at Wamego Country Club. Korbin's life was sadly cut short 3 summers ago in a car accident. Now, Korbin's legacy lives on through a custom golf bag worn by a local golf star. My story for @WIBWsports
