Brylee Glenn on playing big minutes last night, and her teammates crediting her for keeping the team in the game “It’s always so great to hear because I mean just going in there I try to do what I can to get defensive stops and build up my teammates, so to hear that, that doesn’t go unnoticed it’s obviously a huge confidence booster, but at the end of the day, that’s what I’m here to do”

The counterpoint is we’re leaving the most upset rich era of CBB history, and the tourney right now is closer to what it was in 2010 than it was in 2022. -12 of the 15 wins all time by 15 seeds came 2012 or later, -14 seeds only beat a 3 seed twice in the 2000s, - the only 2 16 seed wins all time happened in the last decade I agree I’d like to see more upsets, but expecting these teams to win any games is still a relatively new thing

As you realize the college sports you grew up with doesn’t exist anymore, it hits you that it may have all been a facade. The reason these teams below existed was largely to players being exploited with no ability to make money & punished for transferring. NIL introduced….cream rises to the top. In 2012 a guy who fell through the cracks in recruiting would spend 4 years at a mid major and develop there…not anymore. 80% of those players trickle up to make the major conference teams that were losing in 2008 better in 2026. College sports was prob better in 2010 but it was due to a model that unequivocally ripped off athletes. I am open to being wrong here, but the game has changed forever and what we watched years ago was fake.

The theme of Round 1: A lot of lower seeds pushing top seeds, but not a lot of wins to show for. Top teams are really good this year so not shocking that the Cinderellas couldn’t get over the finish line. I don’t believe top seeds being this good is a trend
