This is EXCRUCIATING to watch. This interview should immediately end John Healey's political career. Even Sly News can see he's completely out of his depth, and amazingly they don't give him an inch. I've never seen anything like it. This is terrifying. We are totally screwed

The US/Israeli attack on Iran and the widening hostilities in the region are exposing the growing scandal that is Britain’s military capabilities, or lack thereof. We are still in the world’s top 5/6 on defence spending yet: We don’t have a single warship in the whole of the Mediterranean, despite the eastern Mediterranean becoming part of the theatre of war. We don’t have a single warship in the Gulf. We have a naval base in Bahrain. But a base with no ships. We don’t have any subs to deploy. The one active Astute Class sub is in Oz. We have a handful of fighter jets in Cyprus. And a smaller handful in Qatar (attached to Qatari airforce). That’s it. Most of what’s left of the Navy — not even in the top 30 in the world in terms of warships these days — seems to be in repair/maintenance/renovation. Brilliant MoD planning. Labour/Tories/LibDems who all had a shot at government these past 16 years need to be held to account. When Ed Davey says Brit expats in the Gulf should pay for UK protection, exactly what protection does he have in mind that would be worth paying for?

“The sheer weight of entitlement that you seem to believe you have would re-sink the Titanic” What sort of hyperbolic metaphor is this by the way? I love such usage of words, tickles me

✅ Eni: "The reality is I have been good enough for 11 years!" 😤 Simon: "The sheer weight of entitlement that you seem to believe you have would re-sink the Titanic!" Simon Jordan and Eni Aluko debate her comments about Ian Wright and her role as a pundit in women's football.

"Sunderland have had an easy start, they'll drop off." Beat Chelsea + Bournemouth, drew with Arsenal in October/November. "Wait till the derby, Sunderland will be put in their place." Saw off Newcastle with ease. "Wait till AFCON, they'll fall apart." 6 players missing... played 4 games against Brighton, Leeds, Man City and Spurs and remain unbeaten. 1 point behind 5th with over half the season played. People just need to accept that one of the most remarkable summers of recruitment in Premier League history, has left Sunderland with a brilliant team with an even better attitude.

Only one Premier League game today and it’s at 8pm. Everyone involved should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves.

Less than 50 hours to go... but who's counting eh... Sunderland have had an almost perfect start to the season, unbeaten at home against a Newcastle side that has won 1 League game away all season... They are coming off a midweek Champions League game away from home... But honestly? I don't think much of that matters. Form, tiredness, I think it all goes out the window... In fact I think it's the derby where form matters least. Sunderland are 9 Premier League games unbeaten against Newcastle... were we the better side in those years? Were we the side in better form going into those games? Absolutely not. I'm a whole range of emotions right now... can't wait!

Last night, one of my dreams came true. For years, I’ve dreamed about playing in the Premier League. Some people laughed at me. Some coaches I had when I was little said I’d never make it. Lots of people told me I wasn’t good enough and to give up. But I’ve always held onto that dream of playing at the highest level. Deep down I believed that if I just kept working, kept learning, kept showing up every single day, then one day it might happen. Last night, that dream that 4 year old me had….came true. And if you’d told me I’d make my debut at left wing, up against my mate Mo Salah, I’d have laughed as well. From non league in 2014, to being released by Watford in 2015… there were moments where it felt like this day might never come. Sunderland, you’ve been my home for seven years. I never knew I could fall in love with a club, a city, and its people the way I have. You’ve given me space to grow, to fail, to learn, and to find out who I am as a player and a person. To play even a small part in rebuilding this beautiful club and helping it climb back to where it belongs is something I’ll always be proud of. Making my Premier League debut… I’m incredibly grateful. Taking a moment afterwards to stand with my mum and dad and breathe it all in… that was special. But that debut chapter is written now. The focus is on pushing on, improving, growing, and helping drive this club forward with this unbelievable group of players. Seven years ago we were in League One. Fast forward to last night and we have a team giving everything, disappointed to only get one point against the Premier League champions. If that’s not a moment to stop, reflect, and feel proud, I don’t know what is. Thank you to everyone who’s been part of this journey; my family, my friends, the staff, the supporters, and my teammates. It’s just the beginning ❤️

🇪🇸 In Spain, a 27-year-old Algerian woman has been arrested for attempting to blind her two-year-old son by repeatedly pouring an irritating liquid into his eyes over several months. She also has a seven-year-old daughter who is blind. It's believed that she did this deliberately to receive more social benefits.

Today, football briefly takes a step aside. For the first time in the UK, our entire stadium, home and away, will come together as one to honour and remember those who served our nation. We’d like to say a warm welcome back to the Stadium of Light to all @Arsenal supporters joining us today. To make sure everyone can be part of this special moment, we’re asking all supporters to arrive early and be in their seats well before kick-off. The display will take place before the match begins. For those travelling #AFC supporters, you’ll find a sheet of plastic on your seat, when the stadium announcer asks everyone to raise their display material, we’d be truly grateful if you could join us by lifting yours too. For all supporters, please keep your display material raised until the bugler’s rendition of The Last Post has finished, as we come together in silence to honour and remember those who served. Together, we’ll create one united mosaic, a powerful tribute from both sets of supporters before kick-off. And finally, a heartfelt thank you to all Sunderland and Arsenal fans for taking part in this special display. ❤️🤍💜 #SAFC #Arsenal #Remembrance #LestWeForget
