Opening Weekend Takeaways That Cardinals feeling is back. We haven’t felt that in years. The constant mediocre seasons with no direction or substantial moves drove fans away. Chaim Bloom has purposely gone with a young core and is looking to the future with a strong farm system and an excitement could be felt. An excitement for Cardinals baseball. Everyone has already written off the Cardinals. Every single writer and fan has the Cardinals projected to finish dead last in the NL Central. This young gun team is playing with house money. And from the first two wins, it doesn’t look like any player or coach remotely agrees that they are a bad team. Being at Busch and watching these guys looked like a hungry, chip on their shoulder, and a little pissed off team that feels like they belong. Like they can and should win any game they play. We simply did not see this attitude from previous years teams. The 2026 Cardinals care. They care about winning and that could be felt in the stadium. Wetherholt at the forefront, Burleson cementing himself as a true 3 hitter, Jordan Walker coming into form now that he isn’t the spotlight player, Masyn Winn being the best STL SS since Ozzie (yes I will go that far), VS2 being an elite CF, and Bloom finally taking control of the team are some of the reasons to be excited about the Cardinals. 🚨Republican Congressman Mike Lawler held a town hall in Rockland County, New York. Veterans stood up and told him exactly what they thought of him and Trump. Lawler had them removed. That made it worse. The crowd turned on him. He had to leave. These are not protesters. These are veterans. People who served. Who buried friends. Who know what war costs because they paid it personally. They looked a Republican congressman in the eye and said what they thought. He called security.
